Kim Kardashian forgives robber after his apology letter moves her to tears during Paris trial

PARIS, FRANCE: Kim Kardashian was visibly moved to tears as she gave emotional testimony in a Paris courtroom on May 13, recounting the traumatic events of the 2016 robbery that saw her held at gunpoint during Paris Fashion Week.
The 44-year-old entrepreneur and reality TV star had no idea what was coming when the presiding judge read aloud a personal apology from one of the men who orchestrated the attack.
The courtroom has a strict no-photo, no-audio policy during the trial, which began on April 28. According to NBC News, Kim Kardashian reportedly broke down in tears as the judge read aloud a letter from one of the men involved in the robbery.
Kim Kardashian tells Paris robber she forgives him

Aomar Ait Khedache, 69, believed to be the ringleader behind the multi-million-dollar jewelry heist, wrote a deeply remorseful letter that moved Kim Kardashian. Despite being deaf and mute, Khedache conveyed heartfelt sympathy for the emotional trauma Kardashian and her family experienced.
He cited a newfound awareness of the psychological damage his actions had caused after seeing her speak publicly about the incident.
“I want to come to you as a human being to tell you how much I regret my action,” read Khedache’s note, adding, “I want you to know that I fully sympathize with the suffering you, your children, your husband and your loved ones are going through.”
Khedache expressed that after learning how she had been coping with the ordeal, he felt a moral obligation to reach out, saying, “My conscience has compelled me to contact you in the gentlest and, I hope, most comforting of ways. Of course, the past cannot be undone, but I hope that this letter will enable you to gradually forget the trauma you have experienced through my fault.”

Kardashian, overcome with emotion, responded in court, “I’m obviously very emotional about it. I’ve always believed in second chances. So, I do appreciate the letter. I forgive you for what had taken place but it doesn’t change the emotions, the feeling and the trauma and the fact that my life has forever changed.”
Second robber in Kim Kardashian heist seeks forgiveness in Paris trial
As the Paris trial over the infamous 2016 Kim Kardashian robbery continues, a second suspect has come forward in court to express remorse.
Yunice Abbas, 71, who previously published a book titled 'I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian', reiterated his apology to the reality star and the hotel concierge involved in the traumatic event.
“I asked for forgiveness in the book, but I want to ask for forgiveness again to her and to the concierge,” Abbas said in court, visibly emotional. His lawyer, Gabriel Dumenil, had previously indicated that his client hoped for a fair trial and a chance to publicly express regret for his actions.
Marc-Alexandre Boyer, 35, another suspect accused of participating in the robbery at the luxury Paris hotel, chose not to speak during the May 13 proceedings. In total, ten individuals, nine men and one woman, are facing serious charges including armed robbery and kidnapping.
Aomar Ait Khedache, believed to be the mastermind behind the crime, is among the group, along with Didier “Blue Eyes” Dubreucq, 69, and Gary Madar, 35, the brother of Kardashian's Paris driver, who allegedly provided key logistical information. Christiane Glotin, 78, is accused of playing an accessory role in the heist.

Kardashian, accompanied by her mother Kris Jenner, gave emotional testimony earlier in the trial and recounted the terrifying moments she endured. Her childhood friend and former stylist, Simone Harouche, also shared harrowing details of the night, describing the fear that came from Kardashian’s room.
Kim Kardashian recalls scary Paris incident when she got robbed
In a powerful moment at the Palais de Justice, Kim Kardashian faced the men accused of robbing her in a Paris luxury suite for the first time.
During her emotional courtroom testimony, the reality star recounted believing she was "absolutely going to die" as masked robbers posed as police, tied her up, and held her at gunpoint. Her former stylist also testified, describing the terror of discovering Kim bound in tape and fearing she'd been assaulted.
Kardashian said she was afraid for her sister Kourtney, who would return to the suite later that night and find her “dead on the bed, shot dead, and she would have this memory forever.”
Kim recounted how the assailants forced her onto the bed. “I started to freak out,” she testified. Desperately, she asked the concierge, "What is going to happen to us?”
Kardashian recalled pleading with the attackers, telling them, “I have babies, I have to go home.” One of the men responded quietly, saying he “didn’t know.”
She described the moment they began tying her up, sending her into a state of panic. As one of them reached to tape her mouth, he leaned in and gently whispered in English, “Shh... you’ll be OK.”
