Kit Harington confirms Jon Snow 'Game of Thrones' spinoff is off the table, fans call it 'biggest fumble'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Game Of Thrones' fans were furious when Kit Harrington dropped the bombshell that HBO had scrapped plans for a spin-off centered around Jon Snow.
Social media exploded with mixed reactions, with some applauding the decision, blaming the infamous finale of 'Game Of Thrones' for leaving them with endless nightmares for months.
Harrington caught attention before when he talked openly about finding out he had ADHD while he was in rehab. He shared about the difficulties he faced with his mental health, battling alcoholism, and dealing with social anxiety, all while he was acting in 'Game of Thrones.'
Kit Harrington reveals Jon Snow spin-off has been called off
The famous line from 'Game of Thrones', "You know nothing, Jon Snow," has been proved wrong in reality, as it turns out 'Jon Snow', played by Kit Harington, knows a thing or two after all.
Recently, Harington caused a buzz on social media when he revealed that the planned spinoff series focusing on Jon Snow is no longer actively being worked on at HBO.
Screen Rant states that it was back in 2022 when news first broke about a spinoff series centered around Jon Snow, set to follow his adventures after the events of 'Game of Thrones.'
Harington revealed during an interview with Screen Rant while promoting his project, 'Blood for Dust.' He mentioned, "I hadn't really ever spoken about it, because it was in development. I didn't want it leaked out that it was being developed, and I didn't want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorizing, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen. Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it's worth it."
He went on to explain, "And currently, it's not. Currently, it's off the table, because we all couldn't find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough. So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being."
Despite this setback, Screen Rant reports Harington hinted that there might be a chance, saying, "There may be a time in the future where we return to it, but at the moment, no. It's firmly on the shelf."
While the original series faced criticism for its finale in 2019, the fantasy world of 'Game of Thrones' is still expanding with various prequel series based on the original creator of the world, George RR Martin's works, including 'House of the Dragon,' which received positive reviews for its first season, and the upcoming 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.'
