Kris Jenner ‘freaking out’ about money, BF Corey Gamble ‘feels the brunt’ as his allowance gets slashed
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kris Jenner, the powerhouse momager behind the Kardashian empire, has reportedly tightened the purse strings when it comes to her boyfriend Corey Gamble, much to his frustration.
According to an exclusive source from Life & Style (reported by Yahoo Entertainment), Jenner is feeling the pressure of her shrinking bank balance and has made some financial cuts — starting with Gamble's allowance.
Kris Jenner cuts Corey Gamble’s allowance amid concerns over shrinking bank balance
“She’s freaking out about her bank balance shrinking and had to make cuts somewhere, and certainly not her stash of expensive wine,” an insider shared about Kris Jenner.
“Slashing Corey’s allowance was the logical next step.”
The source revealed that Gamble, 43, who has been dating Jenner, 68, since 2014, has “been on the payroll for 10 years".
Previously, he enjoyed quite a comfortable setup, reportedly receiving “several hundred grand a month in salary” and having unlimited access to Jenner's credit cards.
“Now, it’s come down to $10K a month, and he must ask permission to use Kris’ premium credit cards and no more cash advances and pay for his own transportation,” the source continues.
“It’s pretty insulting for a guy who was used to getting everything he wanted, from driving Kris’ luxury cars to buying gold chains on a whim, but things are different now.”
Jenner and Gamble first crossed paths in August 2014 while attending a 40th birthday celebration for their mutual friend, fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, in Ibiza.
Their connection quickly grew, and they soon began dating.
Corey Gamble bears brunt as Kris Jenner's financial insecurities 'freak' her out
Despite the significant change in his allowance, Corey Gamble isn’t in dire straits financially.
The insider points out that he “makes a fair chunk of change on his own” as a talent manager working with Scooter Braun, but “Kris is freaking out about money".
"And when she’s like this, Corey’s the one who feels the brunt of it," they added.
Interestingly, Jenner, who is reportedly worth an estimated $170 million, has been seen engaging in some budget-friendly activities herself.
On September 24, she was spotted shopping at Costco in Los Angeles with her daughter Khloe Kardashian, as per Daily Mail.
Wearing a casual gray and white tracksuit and matching sneakers, Jenner was photographed loading her shopping bags into her Rolls Royce before heading off to her next destination.
One potential reason for Jenner’s tightened budget could be the uncertain future of 'The Kardashians', the family’s reality show.
While Hulu renewed the series for a 20-episode sixth season over the summer, there are rumors that the show may not be as secure as it once was.
Kris Jenner faces economic challenges of streaming world
An insider reportedly told Life & Style on August 22 that the economic realities of the streaming world could be affecting the future of the show.
“Kris wants the show to go on forever, but the economic realities of the streaming world are creeping up on her whether she likes it or not,” the insider said, adding that everything from marketing budgets to episode counts is being scaled back to make a profit.
While Jenner has to adapt to the changing times, the source notes that she’s unlikely to take a pay cut.
“Because she isn’t just a producer, she’s also a star and her name is on the label. Stars still get paid like stars in streaming, but it’s everything else about these shows that’s shrinking.”
To make matters more complicated, Kim Kardashian’s increasing focus on her acting career could also affect the family’s ability to continue filming the show.
Kim recently landed a role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming legal drama, which has reportedly taken up much of her time.
A source previously told Life & Style that Kim’s long shooting days for the series mean less time for filming 'The Kardashians'.
“It would be a real shame if it ended after a short run,” the insider shared.
“But that doesn’t change the fact that Kim has found this new passion for acting, and that means a lot of 18-hour shooting days where the reality TV camera can’t follow her around.”
