Kylie Jenner reveals reason that led to 'needed distance' with former BFF Jordyn Woods

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Jenner opened up about the "needed distance" between her and former BFF Jordyn Woods in the aftermath of Woods' cheating scandal with Khloe Kardashian's then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, per PEOPLE.

Jenner and Woods' public reunion in July 2023 surprised fans as the former best friends were finally back together after four years of not being in contact with each other.

Kylie Jenner says she 'felt really lonely' by staying away from Jordyn Woods

Kylie Jenner told ELLE in the November cover story, "I was heartbroken. To lose that person felt really lonely, but I had to go through that. I learned so much, gained so much independence, and was there for myself. It helped me grow up a little bit, because we were so attached at the hip."

She added that "it was needed distance" for the pair. She said, "I think that in order for us both to grow, she needed to spread her wings and do what she needed to do as well."

Moreover, she also admitted they have "always tried to talk through things" despite their public-facing friendship seeming to be over. She added, "Anytime something happened, good or bad, and I needed to call someone, it would always be her."

Jenner and Woods reunited many times since they were spotted out for dinner together in Los Angeles in July 2023. They were also spotted in September 2023 at a New York Fashion Week dinner and in January at a Paris Fashion Week event, per the outlet.

Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods seem to solidify that they are 'back' 

In September 2024, Jenner and Woods seemed to solidify that they are "back" as they posted a TikTok clip with Jenner's other BFF Stassie Karanikolaou lip-syncing to a video of Kim Kardashian from 'The Kardashians'.

Kim said in the audio, which Jenner, Woods, and Karanikolaou all lip-synced, "Okay guys, we're back. Did you miss us? Cause we missed you."

Meanwhile, not only Jenner but even Khloe moved past her previous drama with Woods. During a May episode of 'The Kardashians', Khloe said in a confessional, "I definitely get frustrated with the whole narrative. That is something I would love behind us all."

She added, "They’re always pinning the girls against one another and there’s actually no beef. I hate that you have to choose Team Jordyn or Team Kylie."

Jenner talked about the alleged beef and said, "People don't really understand how pure Khloe's heart is. Her energy was always the same — you need to do what makes you happy."

Jenner added that she and Woods have a "more healthy distance" in their friendship currently and they talk about once a month. She said, "People know we're cool and no one's talking about it anymore."

Jordyn Woods' cheating scandal

In February 2019, a rumor surfaced that Tristan had cheated on Khloe with Jordyn at a house party. This particular scandal grabbed eyeballs since Jordyn, Kylie’s closest friend, was a member of the Kardashians’ inner circle.

Jordyn addressed the allegations at the time during an episode of 'Red Table Talk,' where she confirmed that she and Tristan had kissed but nothing more. She added that she’d attempted to apologize to Khloe privately.

Meanwhile, Khloe took to X to accuse her of lying, and soon all the Kardashians publicly distanced themselves from Jordyn. Notably, Kylie was the last to unfollow her on Instagram, although she confirmed in 2021 that the demise of their friendship was an "overnight thing."
