Kylie Kelce reveals her 'aggressive' political views after unseating Joe Rogan's podcast
HAVERFORD, PENNSYLVANIA: Kylie Kelce, the wife of retired NFL star Jason Kelce and sister-in-law of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has quickly risen to fame with her new podcast, 'Not Gonna Lie', which debuted on December 5.
In her first interview since the show’s debut, she opened up about her political leanings and her aspirations for the podcast, as per People.
Kylie Kelce 'couldn't care less' about outshining Joe Rogan with debut episode of 'Not Gonna Lie'
In an interview with The New York Times, published on Thursday, December 19, Kylie Kelce admitted that her success in unseating 'The Joe Rogan Experience' as the top podcast has stirred some tension among Joe Rogan’s fanbase, which she finds motivating.
"That’s getting me going," she told the outlet. She added that she "couldn’t care less" about her ranking, especially when compared to the UFC commentator's position.
When asked about her political views, Kylie didn’t hold back, describing them as "aggressively left-leaning." She also shared her excitement about the possibility of interviewing former First Lady Michelle Obama on the show, stating, "I would love it if she would" consider appearing.
"I would talk to Michelle Obama in a heartbeat, and I know she is not personally running," Kylie shared. The soon-to-be mother of four also expressed admiration for Pennsylvania Gov Josh Shapiro’s initiative to provide free period products in public school bathrooms.
Kylie has undoubtedly carved out a niche for her podcast, which she describes as focusing on "mom stuff" and topics that appeal to casual sports fans, particularly in women’s sports.
Unlike her husband and brother-in-law's show 'New Heights', Kylie’s podcast episodes are intentionally brief, typically under 45 minutes, designed to fit into the busy lives of her audience, especially women.
Kylie Kelce recalls how she felt targeted by cars waving Donald Trump flags near her home
The NYT interview also touched on the online debates surrounding her political alignment, including questions about whether her husband, Jason Kelce, supported President-elect Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris, which gained traction after Taylor Swift, who is dating Jason's brother, Travis Kelce, endorsed Harris.
Kylie shared an unsettling experience where cars waving Trump flags "slow-rolled past" her home, prompting her to feel targeted, as she and her family reside in a busy neighborhood. She emphasized that her concern was about safety rather than public perception, stating, "To me, that was like, 'We know where you live.'"
Now that the election is over and she feels more secure, the 32-year-old made it clear that she doesn't care about others' opinions regarding her politics. "I mean this in the most respectful way. I don’t care what other people have to say," she said.
Kylie's approach paid off, as her podcast quickly gained popularity. She credits her success to the honest, no-nonsense content she offers. "Maybe it’s the promise that you’re not going to get lied to," she expressed.
