Lady Gaga and fiance Michael Polansky's baby's name and gender revealed
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lady Gaga has officially stepped into a new role as a mother. Just a couple of days ago, she was spotted carrying a baby, sparking headlines about whether she had welcomed a child.
The gender and name of Gaga’s baby have now been revealed. The 40-year-old and her fiance, Michael Polansky, 42, welcomed a baby girl, whom they named Rose Bean Polansky, according to reports.
Lady Gaga’s daughter’s name may have a connection to her music
Rose Bean Polansky, Gaga’s first child, was born via surrogate. According to TMZ, the baby’s birth certificate states that Rose was born on June 9 at 11.19 pm at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
While it remains unclear where the baby girl’s name originated, there has been speculation that it could be connected to one of her past works. Gaga has a large rose tattoo on her spine, which she got to honor her performance of 'La Vie en Rose' in the film 'A Star Is Born' with Bradley Cooper.
As per the outlet, the baby was delivered by Dr Robert Katz, an OB-GYN who also helped Ciara and Russell Wilson welcome their daughter, Sienna.
According to PEOPLE, a source revealed that the baby’s middle name, Bean, was inspired by disco singer Carl Bean.
His 1977 cover of Valentino’s 1975 song 'I Was Born This Way' inspired the name of Gaga’s 2011 album and its lead single, 'Born This Way'.
Lady Gaga once revealed her dream of becoming a mother
The 'Bad Romance' singer and her fiance began dating in 2019 before getting engaged in 2024. Then, in 2025, the Grammy winner opened up about her plans for motherhood.
Speaking with The New York Times, she shared, “I’m excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it. The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most."
On April 13, 2016 Lady Gaga performed "La Vie En Rose" at Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotheraphy launch gala in front of Michael Polansky, the company's CEO.

She also revealed the internal conflict she faced because of her public life: :I’m also kind of at war with myself sometimes as I get ready to, hopefully, become a mom soon. Like, today is wonderful, but the whole day has revolved around me. There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this."
"How do I live a life where I’m passionate about my art while also making more space for other things?" Gaga added.
During her appearance on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' in October last year, the singer shared, "I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope."
