WASHINGTON, DC: Lara Trump on Wednesday, February 18, revealed that on the very night President Donald Trump departed the White House in 2021, he immediately expressed his determination to run for president again.

Despite the “somber” atmosphere following the 2020 election, Lara recalled how he looked at his family during their first dinner in Florida and declared, “I’ve got to do it again.”

She explained the mood, stating, “I mean, I kind of think we all were in a place of despair uh leaving the White House in 2021.”

She added, “You know, when we got on the plane to fly down to Palm Beach for the last time, we got on Air Force One for the last time of that term, it was very somber. I mean, it was an incredibly tough time for all of us. And I think it was an incredibly tough time for him.”

While the family was unsure of how the evening would unfold once they arrived in Palm Beach, Donald Trump quickly shifted the tone from despair to determination.

Recounting the moment he addressed the family, Lara Trump said, “No one really had a lot to say. He told all of us that he wanted to have dinner that night. And none of us really knew how that would go. And the first thing he did before he even sat down at the dinner table is he looked around at all of us and he goes, 'Well, kids, I got to do it again.'”

Lara Trump reflects on resilience needed to 'never give up'

Lara Trump highlighted this moment as a primary example of her father-in-law’s refusal to quit, even after enduring significant personal and political challenges.

She noted that many others would have walked away from public life after such a period, but he chose to keep fighting for what he believed was right.

Reflecting on his resilience, she remarked, “He never gave up. He continued to fight for what he wanted, but what he I think knew was right to do.”

She further connected his actions to a philosophy of persistence he has long championed, adding, “And I think that's the key. You know, if you're willing to work harder and you're willing to fight more than anyone else for something, you're going to be victorious. And Donald Trump is certainly the picture of that to a tea.”
