WASHINGTON, DC: National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was grilled by Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham on the Tuesday, March 25, episode of 'The Ingraham Angle,' after reports emerged of a major national security data breach the previous day, reported Mediaite.

Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, published a report on Monday detailing how he was added to a group chat on the messaging service Signal, where top security officials in the federal administration, along with Vice President JD Vance, discussed their war plans, such as bombing Houthi rebels in Yemen.

After being pressed by Laura Ingraham on her show, Mike Waltz accepted responsibility for the breach of sensitive information while maintaining that he did not invite Jeffrey Goldberg to the private group knowingly.

“Look, a staffer wasn’t responsible, I take full responsibility. I built the group. My job is to make sure everything’s coordinated," he stated.

"I don’t mean to be pedantic here, but how did the number–” Ingraham began before Waltz interjected with an explanation.

"Have you ever had somebody’s contact that shows their name and then you have somebody else’s number?" he said.

As Ingraham noted that she does not make those mistakes, Waltz continued, "You got somebody else's number on someone else's contact. So, of course, I didn't see this loser in the group. It looked like someone else. Now, whether he did it deliberately or it happened in some other technical mean is something we're trying to figure out."

Ingraham repeatedly asked Waltz how he had Goldberg's number on his phone, to which he replied that he had no idea and that the administration had their "best technical minds" looking into it.

At one point, Waltz let it slip that a person whom he expected to be on the group chat was not there. When Ingraham pressed him to reveal their identity, Waltz pushed the subject aside, saying, "Well, I’m not, look, Laura. I take responsibility. I built the group. But that’s the part that we have to figure out. And that’s the part that we– embarrassing, yes. But, Pete and I are veterans. We know these operations. He has been an excellent secretary of defense, and this was an operation that– I mean, it amazes me."

"I guess the Democrats were fine to leave all the sea lanes shut down. We’re fine to have destroyers fired on dozens of times by this terrorist group, and fine to have Iran keep supplying the missiles. That was ok," he continued. "The president takes decisive action, and now we’re seeing some real success in taking down their air defenses, opening the sea lanes, taking out their leadership," Waltz added.
