WASHINGTON, DC: MAGA influencer Laura Loomer has claimed that President Donald Trump's staff “can’t stand” Georgia Republican Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Loomer’s remarks came during a deposition in her $150 million defamation lawsuit against comedian and HBO host Bill Maher, stemming from a September 2024 episode where Maher joked about an alleged intimate relationship between her and Trump.

Laura Loomer claims Marjorie Taylor Greene is 'very jealous' of her

During her testimony, Laura Loomer reportedly claimed Marjorie Taylor Greene was envious of her and that White House insiders made their feelings clear.

“She’s very jealous of me,” Loomer said during the deposition, according to Puck. “Trump’s staff told me that they can’t stand Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

The legal battle began after Maher joked on his HBO show 'Real Time' that Loomer may be in an “arranged relationship” with Trump.

“We did an editorial here a few years ago ... it was basically, who’s Trump f*****g? Because I said, you know, it’s not nobody. He’s been a dog for too long, and it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week. I think it might be Laura Loomer,” Maher said during the segment.

Though intended as satire, the audience’s reaction, described as groaning, prompted a judge to conclude that viewers may have interpreted Maher’s comments as statements of fact, allowing the lawsuit to advance to the discovery stage.

HBO attorney questions Laura Loomer’s credibility during tense deposition exchange

A transcript obtained by Puck revealed HBO’s legal team pushing back on Laura Loomer’s claim that Bill Maher’s joke had destroyed her shot at a White House role.

Loomer said she had frequent access to Trump, stating she had been to Mar-a-Lago “20, 30 times,” flew on Trump’s jet, texted the president, and had even submitted a resume and cover letter for a job in his administration.

When an HBO attorney asked Loomer, “Other than Bill Maher, can you name a single human being on all of Planet Earth that believes what Bill Maher said?” she responded, “It’s up for interpretation.”

The deposition took a sharper turn when attorney Kate Bolger referenced Loomer’s history of controversial remarks, including Islamophobic statements and criticism of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s bathroom policies.

The far-right activist pushed back, saying, “I’m not going to be gaslit by a Democratic lawyer who represents fake news media.”

Donald Trump praises Laura Loomer as a ‘patriot’

When asked about Laura Loomer, Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday, August 3, “I know she’s known as a ‘radical right,’ but I think Laura Loomer is a very nice person."

Trump added, “I think she’s a patriot, and she gets excited because of the fact she’s a patriot, and she doesn’t like things going on that she thinks are bad for the country. I like her.”

Loomer told The Washington Post that Trump had offered her jobs “on four separate occasions” but claimed those roles were “snatched away in acts of professional jealousy,” although she has never formally worked for Trump’s campaign or administration.

She has also taken credit for pushing out various officials, including former national security adviser Mike Waltz, former FDA chief vaccine regulator Vinay Prasad, and former cybersecurity director Jen Easterly.

Loomer has further alleged her reports triggered events such as the revocation of Hunter Biden’s Secret Service detail following a trip to South Africa.

Laura Loomer says her reports reach Donald Trump directly through allies and Cabinet members

“Most of the time, when my information goes viral, the president hears about it, sees about it in some fashion — one of the Cabinet members tells him, or one of his golf buddies tells him, and he ends up asking me about it,” Laura Loomer told The Washington Post.

“That’s how it goes down. It’s really that simple. People just — they don’t seem to be able to fathom that. That’s how it works,” she added.

Loomer's team shares content across X (formerly Twitter), her website, and her streaming show 'Loomer Unleashed', which she believes are seen and acted on by Trump or those close to him.

A person close to Trump told the publication that the president and Loomer speak less than weekly, and “there were times recently he was very frustrated with her and not speaking to her.”

Some of her recommendations have also resulted in Trump taking action. Some haven’t, the person noted.

The president was particularly irked by her criticism of his acceptance of a jet from the Qatari royal family, the source shared.
