LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singer LeAnn Rimes, a judge on 'The Voice' Australia, apparently expressed her dismay that young singers competing in the program during the blind auditions were unaware of her identity.

The hurtful accusations were made barely one day after comedian Sam Pang attacked Rimes in his 2024 Logies monologue.

Applauded by admirers for his merciless mockery of Australian celebrities and television shows, Pang, 50, delivered a "savage" joke on Rimes that had her co-stars in stitches.

LeAnn Rimes reportedly 'disappointed' over 'The Voice' contestants

According to reports, LeAnn Rimes was "disappointed" because the young contestants were unaware of her identity during the blind auditions for the singing competition.

Having won a Grammy Award at the age of 14, the now 41-year-old American artist gained immense recognition in the late 1990s.

Rimes, who is best known for contributing to the music of the popular 2000 film 'Coyote Ugly', reportedly felt ashamed when certain members of 'The Voice' asked to know who she was, as was reported by Woman's Day on Monday, August 19.

"The younger singers wouldn't have even heard of Coyote Ugly and that was really what put her on the map," a source told the outlet.

The insider added: "Some of the contestants weren't even born when that song was released."

"Behind the scenes, the contestants really got the hard sell on why they should pick LeAnn and once you realize how big she was back in the day and who she worked with, people quickly changed their minds," they added.

Rimes' hit track 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' was enormously successful in 2001, selling over two million copies globally, topping the Australian charts, and emerging as the biggest-selling single in that nation, per Daily Mail.

Sam Pang took aim at LeAnn Rimes during 2024 Logies monologue

The latest claims surfaced after comedian Sam Pang made vicious accusations against LeAnn Rimes in his 2024 Logies monologue. Rimes' 'The Voice' co-stars Kate Miller-Heidke and Guy Sebastian were left stony-faced at the joke.

As per Daily Mail, Pang hosted the awards ceremony for the second year in a row. His presentation and celebrity roasting at the previous year's event won him a lot of accolades.

He did not let the audience down either, receiving a standing ovation for his "fearless" monologue where he took a strong jab at Channel Seven.

In his take-no-prisoners speech, Pang also aimed Network 10 and the 'Married At First Sight' series before making jokes about Adam Lambert and Rimes.

The 'Voice' Australia's new judge Rimes got a knock when Pang said that viewers would only find out who she was by searching "Who is LeAnn Rimes?"

The joke promptly erased the smile from the faces of Miller-Heidke and Sebastian, the singer's co-stars on 'The Voice'.

Eventually, Pang took nothing for granted in his brutal speech, picking off the Gold Logie nominees one by one and letting them roast.

Fans praise Sam Pang's scathing roast at 2024 Logies

Fans praised Sam Pang for not holding back while mocking the famous visitors, and they quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their hilarious reactions.

Fans on social media were so impressed with him that some even demanded he be handed a Logie himself, and other networks should hire him to present all Australian awards shows.

One fan wrote, "Sam Pang is absolutely fearless," while a second one added, "Sam Pang should be nominated for the gold Logie , not Robert Irwin !!!"

Another user added, "Sam Pang being a bit brutal tonight. Poor Leann Rimes. Thought I was about to witness another Will Smith moment with Ant Middleton. I think Sam did too."

"Sam Pang KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK again. Love him - 10/10 #TVWeekLogies," added another.

One exclaimed, "Another brilliant monologue by Sam Pang. The entertainment was great this year. Larry Emdur’s speech was fabulous."
