Liam Payne's heartbreaking concerns about son Bear following in his footsteps revealed
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Following Liam Payne's shocking death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, an old interview of him has resurfaced, revealing what he thought about his son, Bear, following in his footsteps, as per The Mirror.
The former One Direction member, who died in October after falling from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, welcomed Bear with his ex-girlfriend, Cheryl Cole, in 2017 when he was 23 years old.
Liam Payne said he'll let his son Bear know about 'risks' of being in public eye
During a 2021 interview on Steven Bartlett's 'The Diary Of A CEO' podcast, Liam Payne joked, "This is a tricky one! I think his mum's hoping he's going to become some sort of yoga person."
He added, "His mum's very chill these days. He's got the best advice from the parents around him in the long run, I guess."
Payne also mentioned that he would never ask his child to stop "doing something he wanted to do."
"We'll have a good discussion about it, a long discussion because I know what effects that can have too. I'd let him know the risks and I'd tell him what was going to happen better than that," asserted the 'LP1' creator.
Liam Payne wanted to let his son 'make his own choice'
Liam Payne went on to explain how sometimes even one's preferred work can get unexciting.
He shared, "I think everything that you do - depending on what kind of person you are - becomes annoying at a point. I used to think my dad's job was the best job ever, building aeroplanes like adult Lego, but my dad's like, 'Do not end up in that bloody factory.'"
He also discussed how he and Cole were saving their son from the limelight.
Payne said, "That's not being pretentious or anything other than the fact I want to give him a chance to be Bear first before he has to be your mum and dad are so-and-so. I made my choice to be where I was at 14/15 so I figure he can make his own choice then too."
Cole and Payne, who parted ways in 2018 after two years of dating, co-parented Bear.

She began, "As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being."
"Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again," added the Girls Aloud member.
Cole continued, "What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future. "
She urged, "I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces. Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them."
"Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last. Thank you, Cheryl," concluded the 41-year-old.
