'Life is beautiful: Joey Lawrence opens up on his 'crazy-unexpected journey' with wife Samantha Cope

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joey Lawrence recently spoke about the journey of his marriage and how he ended up finding true love with Samantha Cope.

The 47-year-old said on his first meeting with the future partner, "We did this big thriller ['My Husband's Secret Brother'] that my brother Andrew directed for Lifetime and I met her on the set that movie.”

He added, "Which is so crazy to me. I'd never dated somebody that I'd worked with before. That was just very, very much out of the ordinary for me. I was her killer. Well, I was her lover — and also her killer."

Samantha Cope and Joey Lawrence welcomed their baby in 2023

Lawrence and Samantha married in May 2022 and welcomed their baby in January 2023. The actor, who also runs a podcast along with his two other brothers named ‘Brotherly Love' talked about returning to work post-strike.

Speaking about his children, Lawrence said, "It's keeping me young and it's aging me. But the kids are great." Lawrence is also father to daughter Charleston, 17, and Liberty, 13, with his ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson.

"Look, life is a beautiful, sometimes crazy-unexpected journey, and the ups and downs are real, and I'm very thankful that people that I love are around me and that there's health around us," he said.

Joey Lawrence recently collaborated with electric car maker 

He recently collaborated with VinFast electric cars and shot an ad. "I love this car. It doesn't feel like an electric car, which to me is my only beef with a lot of them. They're like golf carts. They just don't have any soul. They have the technology, but they drive like a golf carts. This car actually drives like a car. It actually feels like a car inside," he said.

Lawrence continued, “I like an interior that feels like an interior, not just like a seat with a screen. And they're so fast, and they just drive really well."

When one of the spots requested him to say his famous ‘Whoa!,’ dialogue, the actor didn’t mind, as per People. “There's enough time passed now where it just makes sense. You see John Travolta doing Saturday Night Fever,” he explained.

“So you get some distance between you and these iconic moments and then it's okay. It's great to relive those moments as an adult and to understand it still means something to a lot of people, which is pretty cool," he added.
