Lindsay Clancy holdout juror hit with death threats and doxxing after lone verdict stand
PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS: The backlash surrounding the Lindsay Clancy trial has moved online, with the attorney for juror Michael P Desronvil alleging that his client is now dealing with death threats, doxxing, and harassment.
Desronvil was the only member of the 12-person jury who refused to support an insanity verdict for Clancy.

Holdout juror faces threats
The new allegations concern what happened after Desronvil's role in the deadlocked jury became public.
His attorney, Edward Paltzik, on Saturday, September 19, said Desronvil has been targeted with threats and had personal information exposed online.
Paltzik said the alleged harassment included death threats and described those targeting his client as a “lunatic mob.”
Desronvil had already explained his position in the case before the latest allegations emerged.
During deliberations, he disagreed with the other 11 jurors, who were prepared to find Lindsay Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity.
Desronvil instead wanted a guilty verdict, saying the evidence presented by prosecutors convinced him that Clancy knew what she was doing and had planned the killings.

“I didn’t have any doubts,” Desronvil said in his statement.
Desronvil has also disputed the suggestion that he simply refused to engage with the other jurors.
According to the statement released by his attorney, he tried to put forward different explanations for the evidence but felt he was repeatedly interrupted during deliberations.
He said he was not questioning the evidence but attempting to explain why he believed it pointed to Clancy knowing what she was doing.
The disagreement between jurors could not be resolved.
After seven days of deliberations and three separate notes from the jury indicating that they remained deadlocked, Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial.
Support campaign for Michael P Desronvil surges
A fundraising campaign created for Desronvil has also grown substantially amid the controversy.
Independent journalist Tom Hennessy launched the “Stand With The Juror” campaign on GiveSendGo.
The fundraiser has now passed $330,000, with hundreds of people contributing. One anonymous donor reportedly gave $10,000.

GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells said he personally spoke with Desronvil to verify his identity before formally adding him as the recipient of the funds.
Paltzik later confirmed that the money would go directly to his client and thanked Hennessy and Wells for making that arrangement.
The attorney said the funds would help Desronvil deal with necessities arising from the alleged threats, doxxing, and harassment.
