WASHINGTON, DC: It was supposed to be all military pomp and glory, but first lady Melania Trump sneaked in a cheeky moment that stole the show on Saturday. June 14, at the Army's 250th anniversary parade.

At the historic event held in Washington, DC, President Donald Trump and Melania were spotted sharing a quiet exchange while appreciating the marching troops.

The U.S. Army is marking its 250th anniversary with a military parade along Constitution Avenue that includes roughly 6,600 troops, 150 vehicles, and over 50 aircraft. The parade, which coincides with President Donald Trump's 79th birthday, is designed to tell the history of the Army.

According to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling, the duo were watching the soldiers pass by when Melania leaned into Donald, in what she called a “playful moment.” With eyes on the formations below, Melania commented, “They're good.”

The two locked eyes, and Trump couldn’t resist tossing in one rather colorful detail. “I pushed my finger on one of them,” he supposedly said, presumably talking about the troops. Melania playfully replied, “You didn’t do that.”

Trump then backtracked, putting his hand on Melania’s knee and supposedly admitting, “You're right, I never pushed my finger on them." It is unclear what he meant by pushing his finger on someone, the Irish Star reported.

Donald Trump celebrates the Army in his parade speech

Later that evening, Donald Trump took the stage to address thousands gathered downtown. “Every other country celebrates their victories. It’s about time America did too — that’s what we’re doing tonight," he declared.

“As we celebrate tonight, we also think of the hundreds of thousands of Army soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation and selflessly laid down their lives in every war, from the revolution to the war on terror, to the Gold Star families with us today,” Trump said.

He also name-dropped the Army’s original hero, the “indomitable commander” Gen George Washington. Trump ticked off major military wins like Gettysburg, Guadalcanal, Shiloh, San Juan Hill, the Argonne trenches, and the Afghan mountainsides.

He added, “The Army has forged a legacy of unmatched courage, untold sacrifice, and unequaled and undying glory.”

Trump brought up some wild war tales, too. First up was Union Gen John Corse, who was shot in the face during the Battle of Allatoona Pass but refused to back down. “He fired off a message to his commander, ‘I am short a cheekbone and one ear, but I am able to whip the hell out of all of them,’” Trump recounted.

Then came General “Mad” Anthony Wayne, another Pennsylvania legend known for charging into battle like it was just another Tuesday.

Trump described how Wayne led a midnight raid up the cliffs of Bear Mountain with nothing but bayonets and guts. He quoted Wayne’s message to George Washington before the attack: “Issue the order, sir, and I will storm into hell for you.”

If the crowd was any indication, Donald Trump’s return to the national stage was nothing short of a blockbuster.

Downtown DC was packed with thousands — veterans, families, fathers celebrating Father’s Day, and MAGA faithful decked out in red caps and patriotic flair. Even the sticky summer heat and looming thunderstorms didn’t stop supporters.

Trump, Melania, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth were posted up throughout the parade — sometimes standing, sometimes seated, as they saluted the troops.

The crowd erupted when Trump and Melania made their entrance. A ceremonial gun salute thundered through the air while chants of “U-S-A!” rolled across the streets.

Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were also welcomed with big applause when introduced.

Live music kept spirits high before the parade kicked off. Parade-goers danced, fanned themselves, and even belted out a group “Happy Birthday” for the POTUS, who turned 79 on Saturday, June 14, Fox News reported.
