Lip reader reveals what Kate Middleton said at Prince William's passing-out parade in resurfaced video

SANDHURST, UNITED KINGDOM: A video of Kate Middleton attending Prince William's passing-out parade — a graduation ceremony for officer cadets who completed a 44-week course at Sandhurst, has recently resurfaced.
The now-Princess of Wales attended Prince William's ceremony with hundreds of guests, which included her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, in December 2006, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The publication citing unearthed footage from ITV news reported that as William marched alongside 232 other cadets, his then-24-year-old girlfriend was admiringly watching him and even said something complimentary about him.
Lip reader says Kate Middleton called future husband Prince William's uniform 'sexy'

Donning a scarlet coat with a black hat by Philip Treacy and black leather gloves by Evica Milovanov-Penezic, Kate Middleton commented, "I love the uniform - it's so so sexy," who was wearing a blue uniform, a hat, and a pair of white gloves with a scarlet-coloured sash, as per the ITV News’ lip reader.
Angela Laycock, who was a Junior Under Officer in William's platoon at the time, earlier said, "I've not really noticed anything different to be honest. The first loaded march we had a bit of a detour to avoid some photographers."
"He's just a normal guy that gets stuck in like everybody else. The only difference is that sometimes we'll see his name in the paper and you didn't notice he’d been off that evening doing a charity do. I don't know how he manages to fit that in," Laycock added.

Kate Middleton's attendance 'overshadowed that of Prince Charles and the Queen'

As per Daily Mail, it was the first time Kate Middleton, who was then 24 and a fresh graduate from the University of St Andrews, was publicly seen with the royal family.
Rebecca English of Daily Mail said at the time, "Her arrival completely overshadowed that of Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Queen."
Royal author Tina Brown in her 2022 book 'The Palace Papers' mentioned that Kate's presence was seen as a "thrilling public show of commitment" but her mother "made the rare gaffe of chewing nicotine gum throughout, and was hazed for it in the coverage."

Kate Middleton 'determined to remain in charge of her own schedule' after cancer battle
Nearly five years after the passing-out parade, Kate Middleton and Prince William tied the knot in 2011. They went on to welcome three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The family was left in shock after Kate was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, which resulted in her getting completely out of the public eye. Thankfully, her cancer is now in remission after undergoing necessary treatment and she has been slowly getting back to her public duties.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond shared, "I think she will be determined to remain in charge of her own schedule and she will dictate how much we see her on public duty, and how quickly she gets back to full-time work. And that is absolutely her prerogative after all she has been through," as reported by The Mirror.
