KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: As per the reports, a mother of two who co-hosted KKFI's 'A Taste of Tejano' was murdered during the gunfire on Wednesday, February 14, afternoon in Union Station during the Kansas City Chiefs parade.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan's family confirmed that she died on Wednesday, February 14, during surgery at a nearby hospital for an abdominal gunshot wound.

Along with Tommy Andrade, Lopez-Galvan co-hosted the weekly radio show 'A Taste of Tejano' every Tuesday night. She worked as a disc jockey for the community radio station KKFI, Tejanonation reported.

Longtime Kansas City Chiefs supporter Lopez-Galvan was thrilled about Wednesday's Super Bowl victory celebration. Thousands of people flocked to celebrate the team's NFL championship.

According to the police, there were gunshots in the area that resulted in one death and 22 injuries.

Friends and family report that one of Lopez-Galvan's two cousins, who are thought to be minors, was hurt in the chaos, and that her adult son also sustained a gunshot wound.

Lopez-Galvan was characterized as a lovely, vibrant person by friends and family. She was married and had two grown-up kids.

Longtime friend of no relation Lisa Lopez, an executive administrative assistant in The Star's newsroom, told the newspaper, "She was the most wonderful, beautiful person," according to the New York Post.

“She was a local DJ. She did everybody’s weddings. We all know her. She was so full of life.”

Three individuals have been detained in shooting

It's unclear if Lopez-Galvan's murder constitutes the first murder Kansas City police have confirmed, or if it's the first of two.

Lopez-Galvan received a lot of messages on Facebook the afternoon before she passed away, expressing optimism for a speedy recovery.

At a press conference held in the evening, police stated that numerous gunmen opened fire after the victory parade, which was witnessed by thousands of supporters, leaving one person dead and 22 injured, including nine children.

Lopez-Galvan, who was in her mid-40s, resided in Shawnee, about an hour southeast of the horrific shooting scene, with her spouse and two kids.

An employee of The Star claims that Lopez-Galvan texted them on Monday, February 12, expressing a desire to obtain a special edition of the newspaper to record her beloved team's historic victory.

Lopez-Galvan's confirmed death from the shooting was not confirmed by a Kansas City Police Department spokesperson. According to authorities, three individuals have been detained in relation to the shooting. An investigation is underway.
