MIAMI, FLORIDA: On Saturday, December 23, Tom Brady and his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen made separate announcements on Instagram mourning the death of their family dog, Lua.
The ex-couples announced paid tribute to their beloved Lua on social media, with Brady displaying a picture of his two kids — Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11 — looming over their dog, which was sleeping.

Brady, 46, shared two Instagram Stories honoring the death of their family dog. The first one included a picture of his two kids, Vivian and Benjamin, holding the dog and the caption "We love you Lua RIP," followed by heart, prayer, and glitter emojis.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner posted a new picture of Lua, this one showing her enjoying the sun, along with the words "Forever in our hearts" and a red heart emoji.
Since being adopted by Brady and Bundchen, the Pitbull mix has played a significant role in their household — while she co-starred with Brady in the Ugg advertisement in 2014, per the New York Post.
Following Brady's Instagram story post, Bundchen, 43, shared her own farewell to their beloved pet. The 10-image carousel, which highlighted several adorable moments between Lua and the kids, began with a picture of the supermodel cuddling the puppy.
Bundchen wrote in both Portuguese and English the caption for the photo: "Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven. She will forever live in our hearts. We already miss her sooooo much! #unconditionallove RIPLua."

Online users took to social media platforms to mourn the death of Bundchen and Brady's beloved family dog, with one writing on Facebook, "Losing a fur baby is the worst!" followed by sad paws emojis.
A second one chimed in, "So sorry for your loss…. The holiday joy only makes it worse…. I know from experience…."
"So sad. I have a pitty myself and she has been diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma. I am dreading the day... Thoughts and prayers to Tom, Giselle and their kids," wrote another one, narrating their own story.
"So sad. I’ve been there it’s beyond heart breaking," said another one, followed by sad and prayer emojis.
Others took to Bundchen's Instagram post's comment section to pay their tribute.
American animal rights nonprofit organization PETA wrote in the comment section: "Our hearts ache for the loss of your beloved Lulu. We extend our deepest condolences to you and your family.🙏 May the cherished memories of Lulu bring you comfort, and may her spirit forever reside in your heart.💙🐾"
"Lulu. We are so sad. We used to walk our Chocolate Lab along the Charles River and see Lulu with Benny and Vivi and they would give our dog a treat and we always pet Lulu. She was a true treasure," wrote another griever.
