Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean step behind WH podium as Trump team jokes about press secretary opening
WASHINGTON, DC: Country music stars Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean traded the concert stage for the White House briefing room, taking turns behind the podium and joking around before their joint show at Nationals Park in Washington, DC.
The two singers were in the capital for their co-headlining ‘The Double Down Tour’ when they made the unexpected stop at the White House. What followed looked less like a formal political visit and more like two longtime country stars having fun in one of the most recognizable rooms in Washington.
The Trump team joined in on the joke, posting on Instagram, “heard that there is an opening for Press Secretary,” referring to Karoline Leavitt stepping down from the role.

The scene quickly turned into a playful back-and-forth between the two country stars.

Bryan sat in front of Aldean and raised his hand as though he were a reporter waiting to ask the president a question.
“Mr President?” Bryan said before eventually making his way to the podium himself.
Luke Bryan jokes about screwworms as he takes over White House podium
For a few moments, the two essentially took turns being president for the day, turning the normally serious briefing room into a much lighter setting.
Bryan even tried his hand at answering a question about a Texas agricultural issue.
“I think the screwworms are screwed,” he joked.
He continued, “We've immobilized sterile male flies,” before pointing enthusiastically toward a woman in the briefing room who had applauded him.
“See! I've been listening to our conversations!” Bryan added.
Luke Bryan’s White House visit came after time with JD Vance
The surprise briefing room appearance came after Bryan had spent time with Vice President JD Vance earlier in the day.
According to reports, Bryan also met with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum during his time around the White House complex.
The visit, however, was described as more personal than political.
Bryan and Aldean were in Washington ahead of their joint stadium performance at Nationals Park, part of their 2026 ‘The Double Down Tour’ run.
Their White House stop simply gave them another unusual setting to spend time together before taking the stage.
Aldean is known for his outspoken conservative views and has had connections with the Trump administration, adding an obvious political backdrop to the appearance.
