Maisie Williams says she was 'lost for so long' after 'Game of Thrones'

At the tender age of 12, Williams took up her challenging role on the hit series 'Game of Thrones.'

“It’s hard to even put myself back there and talk about how tough it was just because I think it’s done," she added.

The 'Cyberbully' actress says she's "a lot more comfortable in my own skin" now.

Maisie Williams says rejection felt so personal while seeking other acting jobs before 'GOT'

Reflecting on her beginning years in Hollywood, the 26-year-old acknowledged the pressure she faced while seeking acting opportunities.

"It was at its absolute worst when I also was the most out of touch with myself — not knowing your identity and that kind of thing — I think rejection at that point felt so personal, so painful," said Williams.

"I’d solely compare myself to other actresses, and the way people looked, and all of the most destructive ways that you can compare yourself," she added.

Following the end of 'Game of Thrones' in 2019, Williams has learned to explore her identity, particularly examining gender fluidity.

"I like that I don’t need to label that, I guess, and can just express myself that way and still feel, and identify, as female," she told Tatler Magazine.

Maisie Williams opens up on her idea of love and relationships

Williams further opened up about her approach to love and relationships.

“I’ve never sat up and thought about my sexuality for hours. It’s like what Shailene Woodley said: ‘I fall in love with personalities and not people or genders,’” said the actress.

“I have no problem with anyone who would want to be labeled, but I also think that it is no one’s business. Do what you want," she added.

Williams' latest venture sees her starring in 'The New Look' streaming on Apple TV+. She portrays the role of Catherine Dior, the resilient French resistance fighter sister of legendary designer Christian Dior.
