Mama June slammed for crashing Honey Boo Boo's going away party after refusing to pay her college tuition
GORDON, GEORGIA: Mama June arrived to drop off her daughter Honey Boo Boo to college and got a frosty welcome from the entire family.
This wasn’t surprising given her feud with her daughter a few days back. In an earlier episode of We TV’s ‘Mama June: Family Crisis,’ the 44-year-old told her daughter Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird that she won’t be paying Alana's tuition fee.
“If she can't invest in her own self, then why should I?” the mother explained.
The family’s reaction also was quite evident, since after her mother’s remark, Alana didn’t want her to attend her going away party.
Jo 'Doe Doe' breaks silence on Mama June surprise attendance
Mama June's sister Jo 'Doe Doe' Shannon didn’t hold back and reacted to the party crash, reports DailyMail.
“Well here comes June, you know, the belle of the ball, to come see her daughter off to college,” she said during her confessional.
“Hopefully she's got a big fat check for Alana to take to college with her but I don't think so - don't see that happening.”
In the teaser, Mama June is seen walking awkwardly towards the front porch, with her boyfriend Justin.
The shot then cuts to Mama June’s confessional, "I mean of course I'm going to show up and say goodbye to Alana."
“I know that we spit and spatted a couple days ago but I mean that's how our family dynamic works - fight one minute, three hours later, talking like ain't nothing happened.”
After Mama June showed up, the family members couldn’t help but glare at her. To ease the tension, Jessica took the initiative and reminded everyone, “Today is all about Alana. Nothing else. Nobody else.”
Netizens feel Honey Boo Boo will have a hard time in college
Internet reacted to Mama June's party crash at Alana's going away function. One person commented, "Those girls are so strong considering all their mother has put them through. They’re lucky to have some sensible family members."
"She won’t last in Denver," an online user felt.
An individual mocked Mama June, "'Mama' did have a big check then, a funny thing occurred. There, right in front of her, was a bank..."
"Thought she had a scholarship to college. Where is the money that by law, had to be put away from Alana's earnings?" questioned one follower of the show.
A person wished Alana, "I really hope that some mature adult at Regis will take Alanna under their wing and help her overcome the life she learned from her horrible mother. She deserves a chance to make her own way. Rise above, Alanna."
"Her daughter should have all the money," a person said.
