Carey, 54, allegedly spends up to a million dollars a month on so many pointless purchases that she is unable to even open all of her packages, according to sources.
"Mariah used to be more cautious with her money," insiders told the National Enquirer.
"She was always extravagant but there were at least some limits, but not anymore," sources reveal.

The singer, who has an incredible net worth of $340 million, is rumored to make a staggering $3 million a year from her Christmas hit song, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You'.
According to sources, she spends it quickly on "obscenely expensive" designer dregs and champagne crates, treating it like wild money.
Insiders claim that Carey "loves to spoil everyone in her life at Christmas and orders gifts all year long to stockpile."
"She has multiple rooms full of gifts. She's very generous with everyone in her life, especially herself," the tipster said.
Even though the songbird is known for being "generous" with her wealth during the holidays, her purported gift-giving did not compensate for her compulsive online shopping.
