WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene has deepened her rift with President Donald Trump’s coalition, demanding that Republicans end the government shutdown.

The Republican from Georgia said the shutdown "doesn’t have to be happening" and blamed the GOP, which controls the White House and holds a majority in the House and Senate, for the impasse.

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls shutdown 'big political fight'

Marjorie Taylor Greene told InfoWars at the 6:00 mark, "Right now, this shutdown is a big political fight and drama, but it doesn’t have to be happening. The Senate can use the nuclear option and override the 60-vote rule. They can pass the CR with a simple majority."

She noted the Senate used this rule in September to expedite the confirmation of Trump’s nominees. Meanwhile, the funding bill causing the Senate gridlock has already passed the House.

Similar to Greene, most Americans blame the GOP for the shutdown, according to a recent Washington Post poll. Republicans, including the POTUS, have said Democrats are responsible, citing attempts to give free healthcare to undocumented immigrants.

Federal law, however, bars unauthorized immigrants from enrolling in Obamacare or receiving subsidies, and they are also ineligible for Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP.

Marjorie Taylor Greene slams Republicans for hurting Americans

Marjorie Taylor Greene further criticized her fellow Republicans for playing politics while the shutdown harms Americans, forcing TSA agents, air traffic controllers, and soldiers to continue working without pay. She also noted that WIC program benefits remain frozen for struggling families and single mothers.

"These are single moms who have been hit hard over the past four years because of inflation, and the cost of living is extremely high right now," Greene said. "I don’t think these vulnerable Americans should pay the price because of politics in Washington, D.C. Republican senators need to grow some courage and a spine."

Although Greene is known for criticizing Democrats, she has also used sharp words against Republicans during Trump’s second term, especially after it became clear his administration would not declassify the "Epstein files."

During Friday's show, Greene said she still supports President Trump but is frustrated with his governing, which recently included sharing AI-generated content and memes. "I support President Trump. I campaigned for him very hard, but I am frustrated that we aren’t passing bills to make his policies permanent," she added.
