WASHINGTON, DC: After Donald Trump's guilty conviction, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene pledged to unfollow anybody on social media who said he should be replaced at the next Republican National Convention. More than 21,500 posts were connected to her message, which made the hashtag 'replace Trump' trend, as per Newsweek.

After a jury found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts on Thursday, May 30, he became the first former president of the United States to be found guilty of a crime. His sentence, which will be decided on July 11, may include jail time.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's comments spurs flood of 'Replace Trump' posts

Greene, a Georgia Republican and staunch supporter of Trump, posted on X on Friday, May 31, "If I see any account saying we need to replace Pres Trump with another candidate at the RNC convention, I will unfollow you. You ARE the problem."

She further wrote in the post, "Go join the Democrats because we do not want you. We are replacing you with new voters that won't put up with dictator style banana republic s***."



 

Notably, after more than nine hours of deliberations, the result was announced in the corridor on the 15th floor of the courtroom, where Trump sat expressionless as the sentence was read and cheers from the street below could be heard.

An angry Trump told reporters after leaving the courtroom, "This was a rigged, disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be Nov. 5 by the people. They know what happened, and everyone knows what happened here."

Moreover, the ruling represents a startling legal reality check for Trump and puts him at risk of going to jail in the same city where his efforts to control the tabloid media propelled him from real estate mogul to reality TV personality to the presidency.

Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed as her comments spurs 'Replace Trump' posts

Internet slammed Marjorie Taylor Greene as she stated on X that she would unfollow those who are saying they need to replace Trump with another candidate at the RNC convention.

A user posted on X, "He is no longer eligible to run" while one added, "We need to replace ex-president felon Trump with another candidate".



 



 

A person also stated, "You misunderstood what they were saying. We need to make sure YOU run against another candidate in GA-14. You ran unopposed and your district deserves another Republican Candidate" whereas one mentioned, "The good news is that I don't give two sh*** what you think!"



 



 

A user also wrote, "We Democrats WANT to run against a convicted felon."
