MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump’s guilty verdict has not surprised his wife Melania but he was always clear about not showing up at the trial, a source claimed.

As PEOPLE reported, the insider said, “She has been angry about this whole thing for a long time. This [New York jury's] decision is another layer of poison for her.”

Donald Trump expected to go to jail

Trump was convicted on all 34 charges on May 30 after it was proved he forged his business records to make a payment of $130,000 to an ex-porn star, Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 election to shut her mouth about a sex scandal.

He will be sentenced in July. However, whether the former first lady will be there with him at the time remains a mystery.

The mole told the publication, “There are times she has to show. This could be one of those, but it would not be her idea.”

“To stand by her man in a traditional first lady way, no,” they mentioned.

Melania Trump might not say anything at all about her husband and his case

The source further stated, “Melania believes this is a political assassination, but she knows exactly who she married and for this reason has chosen to stay away from media attention to protect herself and her son Barron.”

Besides, a political source says, “I think it is very unlikely she will say much about this unless the comment would be about a political witch hunt, which she believes to be true.”

They continued, "She will probably always be mad at him for many of the things he does but since she has carved out a life that does not include him all of the time, she can deal with it.”

The source also stated, “Melania is not dumb and not a doting wife,” before adding, “She has opinions, but would rather not be involved with any of the legal issues, or frankly the politics of a presidential campaign. It’s not her style.”

Internet users believe Melania will divorce Trump

Meanwhile, many people have reacted to the sources’ remarks as one tweeted, “She hates him. Trust that.”

The second person wrote, “I think after the election is over she will file for divorce.”

“Their relationship is a puzzle to us on the outside - but should be private,” the third one commented.

The fourth one said, “She hates him. Hasn’t been seen by him at all. But who would.”

“Sounds like Melania will put up with absolutely anything as long as she has a big bank account to tap into! It's pitiful that her self-esteem is in the bottom of her Louboutin shoes,” the fifth one added.
