Marjorie Taylor Greene claims GOP lost control of House as foreign aid bills advance with Dems support
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The House voted to approve the rule for debate on the legislative package that provides security funding for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan on Friday, April 19, with broad bipartisan support, 316 to 94, reported CBS News.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on the same day to claim that Republicans have lost control of the House, in light of the House Rules Committee advancing the rule for the vote the previous night with all Democrats in the committee voting for the bill.

The US Representative for Georgia shared a clip on X where she says, "Last night (Thursday) after midnight, we officially lost control of the House to the Democrats, when the Democrats on the Rules Committee crossed the Rubicon and voted for the Republican rule to pass billions and billions of dollars to fund foreign wars, with nothing to fund and secure our southern border."
She goes on to mention completely losing confidence in the leadership of House Speaker Mike Johnson and stated that her motion to oust him from the chair of the Speaker found a second co-sponsor, Rep Paul Gosar (R-Az). This comes after Rep Thomas Massie (R-Ky) backed the motion on Tuesday, April 16.
Greene wrote in her post, "Last night, as most Americans were sleeping, we officially lost control of the House when Democrats on the Rules committee crossed the Rubicon to help Mike Johnson pass billions of $’s to fund foreign wars. I’m thankful to @RepThomasMassie & @RepGosar for cosponsoring my Motion to Vacate Speaker Johnson. We need a new Speaker of the House!!"
