NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced an amendment to the Ukraine aid bill that would require House members voting for it to be conscripted into the Ukrainian military on Wednesday, April 17.

The amendment to the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, was obtained and shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by journalist Juliegrace Brufke, and it read, "Any Member of Congress who votes in favor of this Act shall be required to conscript in the Ukrainian military."

She further shared another amendment offered by the US Representative of Georgia to the HR bill, which stated, "By the funds made available by this Act, such sums as necessary shall be used for the development of space laser technology on the southwest border."

Brufke's post was retweeted by Greene herself, who wrote in her post, "I mean if you want to fund the war, why don’t you go fight in it. Show your support for Ukraine."

When was the Ukraine aid bill proposed?

House Speaker Mike Johnson shared his proposal for separate funding bills for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and national security on Monday, April 15, and planned for the House to deliberate on them within the week. They were meant to replace the unified Senate supplemental bill that was passed back in February.

According to the Washington Examiner, the four bills are supposed to be combined into a single rules bill before being brought to the floor for individual votes. The bills that pass are to be then combined into a single piece of legislation, to be voted on in the Senate.

The move followed months of gridlock and was slammed by multiple members of the House GOP, most notably Greene.

Internet calls Marjorie Taylor Greene 'dumbest'

The internet trolled the Congresswoman for the amendment she sought for the Ukraine bill, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"I mean, if you want to keep helping Putin, take your behind to Russia and do the same," wrote a user.

"Why don’t you move to Moscow since you spend day and night representing the interests of a terrorist state instead of your constituents in Georgia?" echoed another.

"Are you trying to win the award for being the dumbest today? #MoscowMarge" stated a third.

"Wow, what a totally serious amendment from a serious, adult legislator! I mean, Midge, there are cow farts trapped in off-brand cartoon rat balloons that are smarter than you, but NOT MANY! Keep it up! Every time you talk, the democrats pick up another seat in November!" slammed a fourth.

"Someone should file impeachment articles against her for waste of taxpayer money and for making a farce of the House of Representatives and the GOP," commented a fifth user.
