ACWORTH, GEORGIA: Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed on Tuesday, April 15, that she gets the “most death threats in Congress” after her town hall speech was heckled by protesters.

The far-right politician held the event despite the National Republican Committee chairman’s advice to avoid it or to have a virtual one during the two-week congressional recess, as reported by Newsweek.

Greene, following the event, told reporters, “There's no reason for screaming, yelling, ridiculous, outrageous protesting. That disrupts the event for every single person that is there.”

She continued, “I have the most death threats in Congress, and at times, I have more death threats than even Speaker Johnson. And it shouldn't be that way.”

“We just saw Governor Shapiro's mansion attacked with arson. It shouldn't be this way for any elected leader, no matter what the political party they represent,” the 50-year-old added.

Marjorie Taylor Greene claims ‘fascist gathering doesn't exist in’ GOP

During her speech, Greene praised Donald Trump’s second term and his policies and decisions, including a ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors and the pardoning of the Capitol building rioters. She also hailed Elon Musk-led DOGE.

But when asked by one person in attendance, “Why are you such a coward in the face of an obvious fascist takeover?”

The conspiracy theorist replied, “I've yet to see a fascist gathering that doesn't exist in the Republican party.”

She also accused one attendee of getting "brainwashed by the news you're watching" after they asked, "Why is MTG supporting Musk, DOGE and the slashing of Medicaid, Social Security, libraries, and more. This is outrageous."

Acworth Police Department slams violent protesters

Meanwhile, it has been reported that two protesters were tased at the event, while three — Johnny Keith Williams, 45, of Dallas; Andrew Russell Nelms, 40, of Atlanta; and Kiyana Davis, 28, of Dallas, have been charged following the event.

Acworth Police Department issued a statement, saying, “It is disappointing that a very small number of people actively worked to create a temporary disruption to what was otherwise a completely peaceful event.”

“The City of Acworth will always do two things. One, we will stand behind the men and women that wear the uniform. Second, we will support elected representatives of any and all parties hosting events at our facilities. The purpose of this town hall was for Congresswoman Greene to communicate to her constituents, not to place others in danger,” it added.
