Marjorie Taylor Greene hints Israel might be 'pressuring' Trump to keep Epstein files under wraps

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene on Sunday, November 16, floated the idea that Israel or another foreign government might be pressuring President Trump to keep the Jeffrey Epstein files under lock and key.

It began on Saturday, when the Georgia firebrand took to X and noted that she has never received a dime from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). She then wondered “who and what country is putting so much pressure” on Trump. 



On Sunday morning, she appeared with CNN’s Dana Bash on 'State of the Union.' When asked if she was claiming that “Israel is pushing the president of the United States to cover up the Epstein files,” Greene insisted that wasn’t her point.

“No, I simply just asked out loud, is there a foreign government? It could be any foreign government. But is a foreign government pushing to keep this covered up because people just don’t understand the big fight against [releasing the Epstein files],” she said.

When Bash brought up the AIPAC comment, Greene said, “I’m questioning that government [Israel] in particular and questioning any other foreign government.”

Greene has been hammering at Trump for weeks, demanding he crack open the Epstein vault.

“I think it’s a question that many Americans are asking, especially when we saw information recently come out in these emails that the Oversight Committee that I serve on has released, and we saw Jeffrey Epstein with ties to [former Israeli Prime Minister] Ehud Barak,” she told CNN. “I think the right question is to ask is, was Jeffrey Epstein working for Israel? And I’m proud to say I don’t take money from AIPAC. I don’t take money from any special group of people.”

Those Oversight Committee documents show communications between Epstein and Barak (who ran Israel from 1999 to 2001) about a messy conflict in Cote d’Ivoire in the early 2010s. Epstein was apparently encouraging Barak to use the chaos to flex Israeli intelligence.



According to Greene, “We saw him making business deals with them, also business deals that involved the Israeli government, and seems to have led into their intel agencies.” That said, Trump finally snapped on Friday after months of Greene throwing jabs at him, yanking his support and accusing her of going “far left.”

While she was on CNN, Greene also rushed to Tucker Carlson’s defense after he gave extremist Nick Fuentes a platform.

“I defend every single person’s free-speech rights,” Greene said. “I don’t apologize for that, and I don’t believe in cancelling people. And I think it’s important for people like Tucker Carlson and yourself to interview everyone. I did watch the full interview with Tucker, and I admire him for interviewing many people as well as exposing a lot of powerful information.”

It’s worth noting that Greene herself once appeared at the 2022 America First Political Action Conference, an event Fuentes hosted near CPAC that year. Fuentes has previously professed admiration for Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, denied the Holocaust, and argued that women should be more subservient.



Greene, however, claimed that she had no idea who he was when she spoke at the 2022 event. During her CNN appearance, she told Bash, “You should have Nick Fuentes on your show.” Meanwhile, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson told the New York Post the administration “won’t be distracted.”

Speaking of the emails released thus far, Jackson said, “Those emails prove literally nothing. Democrats and the mainstream media are desperately trying to use this hoax as a distraction to talk about anything other than the president’s many wins.”
