BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has ignited controversy with her assertion that the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was orchestrated by "the deep state, the media, and the Democrats."

Speaking during the Republican National Convention on 'The Benny Show', Greene questioned the official narrative surrounding the incident.

"You know, I'll go ahead and jump out there and I could care less what anybody thinks," she declared. "I do not believe that this 20-year-old was able to do this by himself. I do not buy the narrative that they're putting out there."

Trump described the incident as surreal, stating, “The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this, he called it a miracle.”

He added, “The agents hit me so hard that my shoes fell off, and my shoes are tight. ... It’s surreal for all of us. I’m not supposed to be here. I’m supposed to be dead.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene denounces Iran plot claims as a diversion

Marjorie Taylor Greene dismissed reports suggesting that Iran was involved in the plot as a diversion.

"I think they're just laying out the next country they really want to drop bombs on because they love war," she insisted. She argued that a war on Iran "would be a complete distraction from the real case," per Rumble.

"The deep state, the media, and the Democrats have really called for President Trump to be assassinated for years. None of us are shocked that this actually happened," the lawmaker added.

"We are just mortified that they did actually try to do it. I'm just using my common sense. They're going to label me a conspiracy theory. Who cares?"

The FBI continues to investigate the motives behind Crooks' actions. According to voter records, Crooks was a registered Republican who had recently purchased 50 rounds of ammunition. His connection to a popular gun YouTube channel Demolition Ranch and his failed attempt to join his high school shooting club are also being scrutinized.

Netizens reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s claims

Internet users have swiftly responded to Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene’s controversial claims about the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

A social media user, "She is just playing her misinformation self.."

A third claimed, "There is no doubt. They are becoming more desperate everyday to take out President Trump."

"If there is any narrative that doesn’t end with blaming the deep state, the media, the democrats and Biden, Marj can’t handle it," penned a user.
