WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump's massive rally at the Bronx apparently inspired his hardcore ally Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene to invest in the heavily Democratic New York City, according to Newsweek.

Last week, the Republican presumptive nominee held a rally in New York City's Bronx borough, attracting nearly 10,000 supporters in the deep-blue city.

Addressing the massive crowd, Trump proposed a plan to refurbish the New York City subway system, "so it no longer looks like it hasn't been cleaned since 1932, but rather it will be the most beautiful transit system anywhere in the world...We are going to make it beautiful again."

Green, a Georgia Republican, sided with the suggestion and suggested it should be included in the America First projects.

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for investing in Democratic NYC

The GOP lawmaker took to X on Saturday, May 25, doubling down on Trump's plan to renovate the subway system of the Democratic stronghold city.

Stating she enjoyed the 45th president's talk about the NY subway, Green said, "Remodeling the subway to make it beautiful, clean, and most importantly safe are the exact types of America First projects we should be investigating in." However, instead of "investing," her social media post misspelled it as "investigating."

She continued, "America First projects such as building a border wall, securing our border, and opening up all drilling for oil and natural gas are ESSENTIAL! Make America Great Again is a policy agenda for ALL Americans!"

In addition, Greene reiterated her opposition to the US funding foreign wars.

Demanding an end to sending "America's hard-earned tax dollars" to assist wars in other countries and useless endeavors, the congresswoman emphasized it should be in making budgets to "rebuild America to greatness, create jobs, and grow and stabilize our economy!!"

Greene is a vocal opponent of the US sending further military assistance to Ukraine to help against the Russian invasion. As a result of the foreign aid package the Congress passed recently, she threatened to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson but to no avail.

The Trump ally had previously criticized the condition of New York City. In a conversation with Tucker Carlson on Fox News last year, she called the city "disgusting," pointing at the crime rate and foul smells.

Internet criticizes Marjorie Taylor Greene's proposal to renovate NYC

Netizens criticized Greene for repeating Trump's proposal to rebuild the NYC subway by investing in the historically deep-blue city.

One user labeled it "Promises, promises just like the wall. Mexico didn't get the message.. This guy is all talk and no follow thru. A con artist extrodenaire."

Another wrote, "Oh sweetie, I guess you forgot how Trump withheld needed funds from New York..."

"Will that be before or after he releases the new healthcare plan," another asked with a tinge of mockery.

A response read, "Shouldn’t you be more concerned about Georgia constituents problems than blathering about a NYC subway? Highly doubtful if Trump has ever been on a subway in his entire life."

Another person argued, "He did nothing to make any of this happen in his 4 years. He won’t make anything happen if he had 4 more. Remodeling a subway doesn’t make it safe."

Someone else said, "You are apart of the establishment stop lying." Meanwhile, an individual pointed out, "Good words, ideas and thoughts. But those are not action."

"Another empty promise in a long line of lies, empty promises, and hype. Name one major accomplishment Trump had while President. I will wait," fumed another user.
