LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billionaire investor Mark Cuban has provided clarification on his recent remarks, which implied that former president Donald Trump shies away from "strong, intelligent women" due to intimidation.

In a subsequent statement, Cuban attempted to clarify his initial comments made on ABC's 'The View', where he addressed Trump's dealings with women in politics, especially with Nikki Haley.

Mark Cuban defends his remarks on Donald Trump and women

In response to the criticism received for his remarks, Mark Cuban reiterated his respect for the numerous intelligent women who are Donald Trump supporters, including members of his own family.

He recognized that Trump has collaborated with formidable women such as Elaine Chao and Ivanka Trump, yet he maintained his view that Trump has difficulties when publicly challenged by women.

Taking to platform X he wrote, "Let’s clarify something. This is what I said during a conversation about why Nikki Haley was not active in his campaign “Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever. It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him."

He added, "He doesn’t like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work."

Cuban went on to explain, "I’m happy to clarify that 1. I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump. Including in my extended family. I’m certainly not saying female voters are not smart , strong and intelligent."

"2. I know he has worked with strong intelligent women, like Elaine Chao, Kelly Anne, Ivanka and many others I stand by my opinion that he does not like being challenged publicly," he concluded being unapologetic.

Mark Cuban's initial remark gained notice for highlighting that "you never see" former president Donald Trump in the company of "strong, intelligent women," suggesting that they "intimidate" him.

A surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign criticized Trump for not employing former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley to engage moderate Republican voters, in contrast to the Harris campaign's strategy of using figures such as former GOP Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

During the show, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin posed a question to Cuban, "You were a Nikki Haley supporter like I was in the primary, but now you’re supporting Kamala Harris and turns out Donald Trump is not even asking Nikki Haley for her help to try to reach her voters."

Griffin asked, "What do you make of that, and do you think having people like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and other Republicans with Kamala Harris is going to put her over the edge with these Nikki Haley supporters?"

To this Cuban replied, "Yes it will put her over the edge with Nikki Haley supporters. Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women ever. It’s just that simple."

"They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work," he further added.

Mark Cuban faces backlash after attempting to clarify his remarks

After Mark Cuban attempted to clarify his initial statement, it still did not resonate well with internet users, resulting in significant backlash.

A user said commenting on Cuban's post, "Everyone heard what you said, Mark. Now you’re trying to rewrite history. You insulted tens of millions of American women and they won’t forget this!!"

Another added, "You know exactly what you said Mark. Be a man and own up to it instead of back peddling."

A third commentator said, "Cudos Mark. You just made it 50 times worse. We all know what you said and what you meant."

"This is the most pathetic post on all of X this month. Congrats Mark," a critic claimed.

A person said, "So you said something weak and unintelligent—noted."

Another commented, "Mark is in panic mode."
