WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) criticized Republicans on Sunday, November 23, for remaining silent as President Donald Trump repeatedly attacked a group of Democratic lawmakers.

The POTUS posted a series of incendiary statements targeting six Democrats, including one in which he wrote, "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!"

Mark Kelly disappointed with 'crickets' response from Republicans

During an interview on CBS News' 'Face the Nation,' Kelly said, "We’ve heard very little, basically crickets, from Republicans in the United States Congress about what the president has said about hanging members of Congress."

In one of his posts last week, Trump accused the Democrats of "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!" On Saturday, November 22, he doubled down on his accusations, calling the Democrats "TRAITORS" who "SHOULD BE IN JAIL RIGHT NOW."

The POTUS made those posts came in response to a video made by Democratic veterans and former intelligence officers, which reminded service members that they could "refuse illegal orders".

Following Trump’s posts, Democrats condemned the statements, urging him to recant and warning that such rhetoric could incite political violence.

Kelly and Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), two lawmakers featured in the video, reported a surge in threats after Trump shared his posts. Kelly said, "Because of what he says, there is now an increased threat against us."

Slotkin’s office confirmed she received a bomb threat targeting her home last Friday, and she has maintained around-the-clock security since the posts. Her spokesperson said she was not home at the time, and police confirmed no one was in danger.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Thursday, November 20, that Trump was not calling for the executions of Democrats.

Scott Jennings says Donald Trump has 'every right to be outraged'

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings defended Trump’s social media posts, accusing Democratic lawmakers of "seditious behavior" for urging the military to refuse administration orders.

Jennings appeared on the 'PBD Podcast' on Friday, November 21, calling the Democrats "extraordinarily irresponsible." He described their video as "complete and utter b******t," asserting there were no illegal orders involved.

Jennings also criticized the Democrats’ claim that Trump threatened the Constitution, calling it "garbage" and noting that such rhetoric had previously led to violence against the president and ICE agents.
