It still feels surreal to know that Robert Downey Jr is finally back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom after previously hanging his boots as Tony Stark aka the superhero Iron Man in 2019. While Downey Jr retired his beloved character of Iron Man after playing the superhero for the last time in 2019's 'Avengers: Endgame', he is now back with a bang and fans can't get enough of it. By the looks of it, even his Marvel co-stars are harboring the same sentiments as they are taking to social media and various interviews to express their frenzied surprise. On Saturday, July 27, it was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con that the Oscar winner, after playing a grey character in last summer's blockbuster 'Oppenheimer', is returning as a villain. It was announced that the 59-year-old actor would be playing villain Victor von Doom (aka Doctor Doom) in the next two 'Avengers' movies - 'Avengers: Doomsday' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars', per People.
