LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The battle waged by Swifties against AI-generated fake and explicit images of Taylor Swift has escalated, with reports suggesting that the pop icon is considering legal action against websites that have published these unauthorized images.

Earlier, Swifties mobilized on platform X (formerly Twitter), posting in support of Swift while condemning the spread of explicit and fake images featuring the singer. The hashtag 'Taylor Swift AI' gained traction which enraged the fans even more.

Adding to the turmoil, fans were further worried recently when David Crowe, an individual previously charged with stalking the renowned 'Lover' singer, was apprehended for the third time in less than a week near Swift's residence in New York City.

This alarming incident occurred just two hours after the alleged stalker was granted supervised release from court.

Taylor Swift considering legal action against sites that published her fake images

According to the Daily Mail, Swift is infuriated by the circulation of AI-generated images online and is contemplating legal action against the deepfake site responsible for hosting them. Swift has become the latest target of this website, prompting Swifties to express their support for the 'Anti-hero' singer.

This week, numerous explicit images featuring Swift were uploaded to platform X, depicting her in various explicit scenarios. These images quickly spread across Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit.

Daily Mail reports that both X and Reddit began removing the posts on Thursday morning after being alerted about certain accounts.



 

A source close to Swift, cited by the Daily Mail on Thursday, stated, "Whether or not legal action will be taken is being decided but there is one thing that is clear: these fake AI-generated images are abusive, offensive, exploitative, and done without Taylor’s consent and/or knowledge."

The source, as reported by Daily Mail, emphasized the need for the removal of these images, condemning their existence and expressing concern about the platform's initial tolerance. The X account responsible for posting them no longer exists.

The Daily Mail report also mentions that X has suspended an account sharing AI-generated explicit images of Swift, but several others with similar content have emerged despite the backlash.

A user wrote, "GOOD. May she destroy them."



 

Another user wrote, "get those nasty old men for us"



 

A user commented, "I hope she absolutely annihilates them."



 

Another user commented, "i hope she shuts it down. they’ve taken things way to far - just distasteful and disgusting."
