Megan Fox's 'horrifying' verses from poetry collection leave fans concerned amid Machine Gun Kelly split
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megan Fox has sparked concerns among her fans after poems from her 2023 poetry collection, 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous', resurfaced following her split from Machine Gun Kelly.
The poems, which delve into her experiences with love, loss, and the complex ways people seek emotional attachment, have left many wondering about the stories behind the verses. During an interview in 2024, Fox shared that writing these poems was a way for her to heal from long-held secrets as she encouraged others to open up and share their own truths.
Megan Fox's poems from 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous' sparks concerns
User bjack20 recently took to Reddit's r/popculturechat forum to share some poems from 'Pretty Boys Are Poisonous', which has left Megan Fox's fans concerned.
In one poem, Fox described an unnamed individual as a "violent boy" filled with "rage and insecurities," recounting how he used his hands to hurt her.
The poem ends with the haunting line, "I wonder what you are thinking while I cry and beg you to stop."
Though Fox doesn't explicitly reference herself, she revealed the emotional toll, writing, "Mornings after you would hurt me I would wake up and make your coffee, put on a sweatshirt so you wouldn't have to look at the bruises you left."
She continued, "Your parents abandoned you, no one ever taught you not to.....its just because you love me so much. You don't know how to control all the passion you feel."
In another poem, the 'Transformers' star reflected on the bleak reality of love. "I am realizing that this fairy tale will not have a happily ever after instead it will end prematurely with one of us reading a eulogy," the 38-year-old wrote.
In an August 2024 interview, Fox talked about the inspiration behind her poetry. "These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that has taken root in me because of my silence," she shared, as per Unilad.
"I've spent my entire life carrying the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the secrets of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and identity by using their voice to illuminate what's been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness," Fox added.
Fox and Kelly, who are currently expecting their first child together, reportedly ended their on-again-off-again relationship in November 2024 over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Megan Fox's fans feel her poetry collection is a 'cry for help'
After Megan Fox's poetry resurfaced on Reddit, fans quickly expressed their concerns, leaving a flood of worrying messages for the actress-turned-poet.
One wrote, "I don't think these poems are fantastic but they're also better than I expected...if that makes sense. I feel for her. I want her to be safe and happy and free from her abuser."
"This is a cry for help disguised as poetry book. Megan telling us about her domestic abuse and miscarriage like this is heartbreaking…..she needs someone in her life to save her from MGK….." a person expressed.
Someone else said, "Oh my god. These are horrifying," while another worried fan added, "After I finished reading each one I was like 😳. Damn girl. Megan, you deserve better. We all deserve better."
An individual who wasn't a fan of the poems but understood the emotions behind the verses wrote, "These are pretty juvenile but the implications of them being autobiographical are very scary. I hope she’s safe and has strong support."
"Oh my God. These are DEEPLY disturbing…and also really excellent poems!" one more stated. "wow some of these are very intense," another comment read.
