Meghan Markle's Spotify fallout to a fresh start

Meghan Markle’s return to podcasting comes nearly two years after she and Prince Harry parted ways with Spotify after a 2021 multimillion dollar deal, according to Page Six.

The couple’s Archetypes podcast, which initially topped the charts, was not renewed for a second season despite winning the People’s Choice Award for Best Podcast of 2022 and a 2024 Gracie Award.

According to a source, Markle did not produce enough content for the $20 million project.

Spotify and Archewell Audio shared in a joint statement that they had “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

One user on Instagram commented, "I loved her old podcast, looking forward to this!" Another wrote, "I love how much we’re getting from her! This sounds like it’ll be an amazing podcast!!" An individual penned, "This sounds like a great focus… women launching biz."
