LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A video showcasing the differences in opinions between Prince Harry and the chief of his charity, Sentebale, has resurfaced following the Duke of Sussex’s sensational stepping down from the organization.

Sentabale chief Dr Sophie Chandauka recently opened up during an interview with Sky News regarding the viral video where she could be seen ducking under the Royal Salute Polo Challenge trophy in order to make space for Meghan Markle.

In the video that has since then gained renewed traction on the internet, Dr Chandauka and the former ‘Suits’ actress could be seen engaging in a verbal exchange, which was followed by a reshuffling of their positions on stage.

What happened at Royal Salute Polo Challenge?

According to Daily Mail, the footage of Meghan Markle sharing the stage with her husband and Dr Sophie Chandauka has been watched by thousands of people previously, but it has only recently been gaining renewed interest because of the underlying implications of a power struggle among the main characters.

As reported by the outlet, it was the former ‘Suits’ actress who apparently forced the Sentebale chief to duck under the trophy to assume a new position for handing over the trophy to the Duke of Sussex, who won the game. It was previously reported that Meghan allegedly gatecrashed at the polo event with her friend, Serena Williams, after earlier declaring she wouldn’t be coming.

In the now-viral video, an awkward interaction between them could be seen, when Dr Chandauka was seen being asked by Meghan to step aside from Prince Harry. In the footage from the Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Wellington, Florida, from last year, the mother-of-two can be seen requesting Dr Chandauka to move to another spot in the stage as she didn’t wish to leave her husband’s side.

This caused a disruption in the "choreography", leading to an awkward placement of all the people present on the stage.

As reported by Page Six, Dr Chandauka was initially seen smiling for the cameras as she posed beside Harry, with Meghan taking the other side. However, the atmosphere changed when the Duchess of Sussex asked her to change her position in the photo-op.

The former actress repeatedly asked Dr Chandauka, “You want to come over here?” and motioned for the Sentebale chief to stand next to her instead of next to Harry.

As Dr Chandauka awkwardly ducked under the trophy to change her position to the duchess’ side, Meghan told her, “Lovely.”

Dr Sophie Chandauka claims Meghan Markle caused ‘disruption’ in event

The resurfacing of the video happened at the heels of Dr Sophie Chandauka’s tell-all interview with Sky News’ Trevor Phillips where she said that Prince Harry's abrupt decision to resign from the charity was "an example of harassment and bullying at scale".

Harry recently quit as patron of the charity which he set up in honour of his mother, Princess Diana. He and co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho said in a joint statement they had been forced to step down "in support of and solidarity with" the board of trustees who had also resigned following their disagreements with Dr Chandauka.

In her Sky News interview, Dr Chandauka also claimed that the Duchess of Sussex had caused “disruption” in the Royal Salute Polo Challenge and crowded the stage, after turning up at short notice.

Calling the Sussex brand “toxic,” she criticized Meghan for bringing her “very famous friend” Serena Williams, which further crowded the stage and added to the disruption.

Dr Chandauka recalled the chaotic moment and shared, “We would have been really excited had we known ahead of time [Meghan was coming], but we didn't.”

She continued to complain how Meghan’s sudden appearance caused disruption saying, “And so the choreography went badly on stage because we had too many people on stage. The international press captured this, and there was a lot of talk about the duchess and the choreography on stage and whether she should have been there and her treatment of me.”

“Prince Harry asked me to issue some sort of a statement in support of the duchess, and I said I wouldn't,” continued the head of Harry’s charity.

She explained, “Not because I didn't care about the duchess, but because I knew what would happen if I did so, number one. And number two, because we cannot be an extension of the Sussexes.”
