LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle opened up about her bedtime ritual with her children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, in a recent podcast interview, which led to her being trolled on social media, the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday, April 29.

The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex shares her children with Prince Harry. The family has lived in Montecito, California, over the last five years, as a result of which the children have developed strong American accents.

What is Meghan Markle's bedtime routine with her children?

During her appearance on 'The Jamie Kern Lima Show' podcast, which was released on YouTube on Monday, April 28, Meghan shared that she sends emails to her children "almost every night," inspired by a friend of her mother.

The emails contain "random pictures" and snippets from the day, such as a photograph of them at breakfast or something funny that they did. Meghan noted that she was using the email addresses as a "virtual scrapbook" for the children to go through in the future.

"At some point in their life, I'll say, 'Here's an email that I've been keeping for you your whole life. Here's everything and every moment where I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you,'" she said. "For them to be able to look back and go, 'Oh my gosh, she has loved us so much!' That's, I think, the best part about being a mom. It's not about the grandeur of a gesture, it's about 'I see you.'"

At one point in the interview, the Duchess said of her kids, "I'm just so proud of them... They're just so great." Seemingly overwhelmed with a sudden gush of emotions, she quipped, "This is why it's so nice to not have makeup on."

Internet trolls Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle's wholesome gesture failed to evade trolls on the internet, as they targeted her on the social media platform X. The following tweets demonstrate some of their takes.

"Fast forward to her kids showing stacks of emails to their therapist," wrote a user.

"Her kids when they open the email on their 18th birthday," shared another with a GIF of a person smashing a computer.

"Archie and Lilibet in 2038," wrote a third with the GIF of a DELETE button getting smashed.

"Completely and utterly unhinged," jibed a fourth.

"Please...make it stop," quipped a fifth.
