LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: People online are fuming at Meghan Markle after she posted a sweet photo of her daughter, Princess Lilibet of Sussex, on social media on the occasion of International Women's Day on Saturday, March 8.

The photo showed the three-year-old lovingly sitting on the lap of her father, Prince Harry, as the latter kissed her on her head.

The heartwarming photo showed the pair enjoying a boat ride, as per Fox News. However, while many social media users gushed over the father-daughter bonding, some were quick to point out the lack of safety measures around the child during the boat ride.

Meghan Markle posted a carousel of images to celebrate International Women's Day. It also included a selfie of Meghan and her mother Doria Ragland, and a cute picture of Harry and the former 'Suits' actress enjoying themselves on a beach.

The caption of the post read, “Happy International Women’s Day! Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”

But it was the rare photo of Princess Lilibet that the duchess shared that grabbed a lot of attention. While it displayed a wholesome moment where the three-year-old was curled up on her father's lap during the boat ride, with Harry gently kissing her head, what angered some netizens was the absence of a life vest on Lilibet.

Notably, the Sussex couple has mostly kept their children- Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet- out of the public eye.

Critics on social media pointed out that Princess Lilibet was not wearing a safety vest during the boat ride and called out Meghan Markle for throwing caution to the wind.

An X user tweeted, “She has no idea how to be a parent.”

“Prince Harry & Meghan Markle never have the basic necessities for child safety which makes me question if they are parents 🤔 Where are the car seats? Where are the life vests? Do any children even live with them?” another user wrote.

The third one posted, “I’ve had boats my entire life. My children grew up to have their own boats. ALWAYS have a life jacket on your children.”

An individual shared, “It’s strange, isn’t it? Any normal parents would naturally prioritize their children’s safety, yet time and time again, those basic necessities are nowhere to be seen. Either they’re shockingly careless, or there’s something they’re not telling us.”

Another said, “Never put a child on a boat without a life preserver. Elementary rule.”

“No decent parent would go in a car without child seats and on a boat without life jackets. The car seats are second nature to parents, they obviously aren’t for them,” a tweet read.

Another user said, “Seatbelt and life vest don't look good in photos. Photo is more important to them than the kids' safety. In my opinion.”

“Aren’t they always lecturing on child development safety?? Wow hypocrites again. I swear they need to get it together or hire help that will manage them. Morons!” a person added.

Another person said, "They think so high of themselves that they don’t have to follow the laws in the U.S. especially when it comes to the kids."

A comment said, "How irresponsible. Even pet owners put life vests on their pets when riding in boats."
