Meghan Markle shares glimpse into her family's Fourth of July celebration

Meghan Markle gave fans a heartwarming glimpse into her family’s Fourth of July celebration, sharing a sweet selfie with Prince Harry that captures a cherished personal tradition. She posted the photo on Friday, July 4, showing herself cozied up next to a smiling Harry, 40, alongside two photos of festive red, white, and blue cupcakes.

In the caption, Meghan reflected on a special moment from early in their relationship. “Our second date was the 4th of July 2016 and H brought me cupcakes to celebrate,” she wrote. “Now, all these years later, our two children are in on the tradition."

The first image in the series features a tray of cupcakes that the couple made with their children, as part of their family celebration.

The final photo is a nostalgic throwback, a cupcake from that memorable second date, lovingly preserved in memory. Meghan wrapped up her post with a sweet holiday message: “Happy Independence Day! May your day be as sweet as these cupcakes.”

This comes after Markle offered another glimpse into her Fourth of July celebration. The post kept things simple, with the caption: “Happy 4th of July!”

As Meghan Markle shared glimpses of her Fourth of July celebration with her family, internet users quickly responded with a wave of sarcasm and criticism, with many aiming at her presentation and creative choices.

One user slammed Markle. “She pulled him away from HIS family & their traditions,” referring to the estrangement between the couple and the royal family.

A person shared a sarcastic comment, “No sign of invisikids or Hairbald this July 4th, only the one friend she's drinking with and the sad looking food, fruit was decorated with nightshade flowers which can kill you!  Strawberries weren't hulled and Twerkle kept licking her fingers -who knows where the claws had been!🤢”

One person advised, “They look like a lovely family. Stop looking for accolades from us. Live your life free and unhindered by protocol. Let it go. Your children will thank you.”

Another user slammed, “So, no prep work on her part. Just show up, spread already staff prepared food on a board and call it an experience, or joy or whatever word salad word she's using today.. It looks disgusting.”

One netizen criticized, “We all knew she would copy Catherine. And her fruit platter looks boring. Meghan clearly lacks creativity.”

A commenter questioned, “It's just farce after farce on a daily basis........she has actually made nothing but a table full of bowls and plates  -- who can't open a package of fruit, meat, cheese etc. and put it on a plate?  Doesn't take a PhD.  And where are Lillibux and Archifical??  the only pictures of any children on here are old pictures we've already seen ad nauseum.”

Another social media user mocked, “Thank you Meghan for the genius revelation of serving red, white, and blue food on the Fourth because no other woman in America would ever be smart enough to come up with that idea without your help!!”

“Also, puts nightshade flowers on as food decoration, which can kill you!,” One individual noticed.

One more person added, “Another unoriginal idea from Markle, This has been done so many times with charcuterie boards, cakes, and fruits to mark July 4th. Try again, Markle. It ain't working.”
