Megyn Kelly and Maureen Callahan diss TJ Holmes and Amy Robach's new podcast on TMKS
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly teamed up with Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan to roast the new "cringe" podcast started by former GMA hosts TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.
In the latest episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show', the host brought up the topic of the podcast called 'AMY & T.J.' which her guest was more than eager to discuss.
"I'm so glad you picked this to talk about," said Callahanto when Kelly mentioned that the Holmes and Robach "thing was unbelievable," supressing a snigger. The two could barely stop laughing throughout the segment.
Megyn Kelly asked Maureen Callahanto for update on controversial couple
Describing Holmes and Robach as "two mediocrities," Callahan said that she believed that they "lucked into the job of a lifetime" and then went on to "screw it all up."
"In the first episode (of the podcast), they offer listeners no reason for its existence," she continued, "They are so in love with their origin story as a couple."
"They (want) us to believe that they were such broadcast talents (who) were unfairly kicked out of legacy media because, as TJ says in this cringe-inducing podcast, 'We are the people who lost our jobs because we love each other.'"
"(They) would have us believe that they are so naive to think that they wouldn't need to disclose their involvement to ABC executives, while they were also griping, in the same podcast, that they were about to go to the same executives and disclose, but… the gossip rags got ahead of the story."
Callahan goes on to mention that the podcasters show "complete disdain for the viewing audience," who are mostly stay-at-home mothers who do not take adultery light-heartedly, with Kelly agreeing with her throughout her take.
'Great' crisis moment faced by TJ Holmes
In the "insufferable" and "boring" podcast, Callahan says that "there is one great moment where (Holmes and Robach) amp up" a "crisis that TJ faced," to which Kelly stops her saying that she "got this."
An audio track from the podcast is played where the couple shares that once in the heat of the crisis that overwhelmed them, Holmes took to the bottle and ate a lot of "weed edibles," frightening Robach out of her wits.
Kelly goes on to mock the couple over the revelation, asking, "Who thinks they could die from a couple of weed edibles?"
Callahan agrees, saying, "Narcissists never, ever, kill themselves."
Maureen Callahan accuses TJ Holmes of being a 'predator'
Callahan claimed that Holmes had a previous affair with a producer of GMA while he was married.
She alleged that the said producer went to Amy "for a shoulder to cry on, and Amy was counseling both TJ and producer throughout this affair."
Kelly cleared her stance by saying, "They want us to believe that there is a love story and they are happier and healthier than ever - no one is going to listen to this. Enjoy your two minutes back. The only thing that is interesting is your weird and apparently false takes on your affair, which we all see right through."
Twist in the tale
Towards the conclusion of the segment, Callahan reveals that the exes of Holmes and Robach have started dating each other.
She mentioned that "Amy and TJ are furious because this disclosure has stolen the tiny bit of thunder their podcast [generated]..."
