Megyn Kelly claims Joe Biden deserves to 'retire with some dignity' but Internet has no sympathy for him
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly said President Joe Biden deserved to retire from his long political career with some dignity in a post on X on Friday, June 5.
Her comments come in light of the incumbent's first television interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos following his abysmal performance against presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump at the CNN presidential debate on June 5.
Biden mumbled incoherently on stage and at times lost his chain of thought, shocking the Democratic Party and its supporters. Many questioned his ability to serve at the top office for another term and requested him to end his campaign.
However, President Biden has been adamant on running, telling his interviewer on Friday that he would exit if the "lord almighty" intervened and asked him to "get out of the race."
He has reportedly been backed in his stance by his family members, especially First Lady Jill Biden.

Kelly wrote in her post, "I’m genuinely sad/angry over what these ppl around him are doing to Joe Biden. He deserves better than to go out like this. The answer is to let him retire w/some dignity. Not to keep forcing the critically wounded racehorse to run more."

Joe Biden claims debate was 'a bad night'
Speaking with George Stephanopoulos, Joe Biden shouldered the responsibility for his abysmal performance in the debate, but brushed it off as a "bad episode."
"I was exhausted. I didn't listen to my instincts in terms of preparing. It was a bad night," he said, without clarifying what was going through his head at the time.
"The whole way I prepared – nobody's fault. Mine. Nobody's fault but mine," noted Biden, later adding that he was not well at the time.
"I was feeling terrible," Biden mentioned. "Matter of fact, the docs with me, I asked if they did a Covid test because they were trying to figure out what's wrong. They did a test to see whether or not I had some infection, you know, a virus. I didn't. Just had a really bad cold."
Internet refuses to feel sorry for Joe Biden
Netizens reacting to Kelly's post on X appeared not to share her sentiment, as the following tweets demonstrate.
"He deserves nothing. He reaped what he sowed. He showered with his daughter. He is the Big Guy. He is evil, and he deserves no sympathy," wrote a user.

"If he was not a grifter of enormous amounts of money, and a gifted pathological liar, sympathy for him would understandable. But he is and it isn't," stated another.
