Megyn Kelly says 2013 video could show what Nancy Guthrie’s abductor 'walked into'
TUCSON, ARIZONA: More than a month after the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, questions about what happened inside her home continue to swirl.
As investigators search for answers, an old television segment has suddenly resurfaced, and some believe it could offer a disturbing glimpse into what the kidnapper may have seen.

Megyn Kelly revisits old clip of Nancy Guthrie as bedroom becomes crime scene
During an episode of ‘The Megyn Kelly Show' aired on Wednesday, March 11, former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly revisited a 2013 television clip featuring Nancy Guthrie inside her Tucson home.
The footage shows Nancy guiding her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, and her colleagues through a simple lesson on how she makes her bed every day.
At the time, it was a lighthearted moment on morning television. But now, with Nancy missing and police treating that same bedroom as a crime scene, the clip has taken on a far more unsettling tone.
Kelly argued that the footage could potentially give someone a “road map” of the room.
“Potentially giving you a road map for what you would encounter once you go into that bedroom, if you were a bad guy willing to do some homework,” she said.
Megyn Kelly revisits 2013 Today show clip of Nancy Guthrie’s bedroom
The segment that Kelly highlighted originally aired in 2013 and showed Nancy casually walking viewers through her bedtime routine.
“Well, I think everybody needs to know how to make a bed. So, when the time came to teach [Savannah and her siblings] how to make a bed, this is what I tried to teach you,” Nancy explained in the clip while hosts laughed and followed along as she demonstrated.
What once looked like a simple family moment now appears different when viewed through the lens of the ongoing investigation.
Kelly pointed out that the footage reveals several details about Nancy’s bedroom, including where she slept and how the room was arranged.
“So what’s interesting about that clip is you can see where [Nancy] slept every night,” Kelly said.
“And you can see exactly what this abductor must have walked into.”
Kelly also questioned whether Nancy would have made major changes to the room in the years since the segment aired.
“I mean, does anybody’s mother dramatically overhaul their bedroom when they’re in their 80s, 70s?” she said. “I mean, that was, what, 13 years ago?”
She then added, “The point is simply you can see right into her bedroom and, generally, the way it was and the way it was set up. And she lives in the same house.”
Megyn Kelly suggests footage could have helped someone study the home
According to Kelly, the publicly aired footage might have provided enough information for someone to study the layout of Nancy’s bedroom.
The theory gained traction after investigators received a note from someone claiming to have kidnapped Nancy.
“We had an alleged kidnapper note early on in the Nancy Guthrie scandal, claiming they knew exactly where she kept her Apple Watch,” Kelly said.
She added that the note also included details about the inside of Nancy’s bedroom.
“And they had described something inside Nancy’s bedroom…Did those people behind that note see this segment?” Kelly wondered.
Authorities were never able to confirm whether the note was genuine. Investigators reportedly could not verify its authenticity because there was no proof that Nancy was alive.
Kelly said the video alone could give someone enough details to create a convincing message even if they had never stepped inside the home.
“I could describe the inside of that room to a T,” Kelly said.
“And if you didn’t know that the Today show had aired that footage in 2013, you would be very convinced that I had been inside Nancy Guthrie’s bedroom.”
She also questioned whether investigators had looked into the old broadcast.
“I wonder whether the authorities are even aware that this was broadcast publicly,” Kelly said.
