LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Melanie 'Mel B' Brown, the former 'Spice Girl' and 'America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League' judge has opened up about her past trauma and her new love.

Mel B said she has overcome 10 years of abuse from ex-husband Stephen Belafonte and found love again in her fiance Rory McPhee.

Mel B, 48, shared how she struggled to trust and love again after enduring a decade of emotional and physical abuse from her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte who also threatened to leak her sex tapes.

The singer, who filed for divorce in 2017, said she was so broken down that she even attempted suicide.

“I didn’t believe in love and trust because I’d had 10 years of such bad abuse that when I came out of that, I was like, I don’t want a relationship,” she told Us Weekly.

“I was so broken down in my self-esteem, my confidence [and] I really had to build myself up," she added.

Mel B found happiness with family friend Rory McPhee

The mother-of-three, who shares daughters Phoenix, 24, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar, Angel, 16, with Eddie Murphy, and Madison, 12, with Belafonte, said she found comfort and safety in her longtime family friend Rory McPhee, who proposed to her in 2022.

“To think of sharing myself again with anybody else was too scary for me, but Rory is a family friend, so I already have that trust and that foundation laid,” she said.

Mel B returns to 'America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League' as a judge

Mel B also revealed that she is excited to be back on the panel of 'America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League', the spin-off show that features contestants from previous seasons of the original show.

“It’s been about five or six years since I was last on the ['America’s Got Talent'] panel, so when they asked me to join, I was like, ‘Oh, perfect timing for me,’” she added. “I’ve really missed it, actually — now was the right time."
