WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump found herself at the center of a fierce backlash following a recent Instagram post.

In the message, the first lady announced new funding for foster youth, but her announcement was quickly overshadowed by a wave of criticism tied to the ongoing public outcry over the Jeffrey Epstein files.

President Donald Trump recently directed his Justice Department to release “credible” Epstein-related records and unseal grand jury testimony amid the uproar.

Having said that, the silence from officials and Melania on the matter has only intensified public frustration, leaving people to continuously question when, or if, the full truth will ever be revealed.

Melania Trump makes a major announcement about 'Be Best'

First lady Melania Trump’s recent Instagram post shared with her 3.8 million followers under the username @flotus featured a simple white background with bold, capitalized text, “Be” in maroon and “Best” in dark blue, ending with the all-caps statement, “Fostering The Future.”

Garnering over 4,000 likes and numerous views, the caption highlighted a major announcement: “Fostering the Future || New Housing Commitment.”

Melania explained that America’s foster youth received a $30 million housing commitment through the FY26 THUD appropriations bill passed just the day before, writing, "America’s foster youth received a $30 million housing commitment in yesterday’s FY26 THUD appropriations bill."

She expressed gratitude to Representative Steve Womack and the House Appropriations Committee for supporting this important initiative, which is part of the "Be Best" program. "Thank you @rep_stevewomack and the House Appropriations Committee for supporting this key priority of Fostering the Future, a BE BEST initiative."

For context, Melania first launched the "Be Best" campaign in 2018 during her husband’s initial term, focusing on children’s social media use, mental health, and opioid misuse.

In 2019, the campaign expanded to include internet safety. Earlier this year, she announced plans to further grow the platform’s focus on children’s welfare. Speaking to Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt in January, Melania said, “I will expand 'Be Best' and continue with 'Be Best.'”

Melania Trump’s post drew sharp criticism, largely because it came at a time when Donald Trump is under growing fire from within his own MAGA base over his administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. The comments section of the first fady's post was flooded with demands from critics, urging transparency and calling for the full release of the Epstein files.

A person stated, "Be best at releasing the Epstein files," while another commented, "Cutting Aid to the needy and starving is NOT being best!!! No food and medical supplies is Not America being their best , how can any of you spend millions and deny fellow human beings the basic necessities? God sees you and will Know you Not!"

An outraged user wrote, "Omg what an original idea. Guess it’s a rerun from your first round. Have you suggested to your husband to 'Be best' pretty sure it’s list in him. Why not see if he can do what you are promoting first and if it works with him the world might take you seriously."

"Be the hero! The files! 🇺🇸," another comment read, while another said, "Be best ??……. Trying to drag attention away from EPSTEIN."

An individual wrote, "We want the list 😓," possibly referring to the so-called Epstein "client list." One more asked, "Can you Be Best - and release the Epstein Files?!?!"

"Be best is one way to cover up your husband’s failings," a person bluntly stated.
