Melania Trump steps out in Adam Lippes shirtdress for 'Salute to America 250' celebration
WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Melania Trump wore a white Adam Lippes dress as she joined President Donald Trump for the Fourth of July 'Salute to America 250' celebration in Washington, DC.
The appearance came as thousands gathered on the National Mall despite extreme heat and weather-related delays that pushed back the evening program. Trump later addressed the crowd after thunderstorms delayed the event and its scheduled fireworks display.
Melania Trump repeats Adam Lippes choice for national celebration
Melania Trump opted for a white cotton shirtdress by American designer Adam Lippes, featuring a jacquard fabric with subtle woven dots. She completed the look with white leather Christian Louboutin pumps.
The First Lady has repeatedly chosen Adam Lippes for high-profile public appearances, including President Trump's 2025 inauguration and a White House tea with King Charles III and Queen Camilla earlier this year.
Her Fourth of July outfit also echoed last year's Independence Day look, when she wore a Thom Browne cotton poplin A-line shirtdress accented with the designer's signature red, white, and blue grosgrain waist detail.

The 'Salute to America 250' event capped a full day of Independence Day activities marking the nation's 250th anniversary. Earlier festivities included the Great American State Fair and the FIFA Fan Zone, although the state fair was evacuated early because of the extreme heat.
President Trump was originally scheduled to deliver remarks at 9:45 pm, but took the stage after 11 pm because of unsettled weather, delaying the planned fireworks display.
Ahead of the speech, Trump was seen inside the National Mall VIP viewing area alongside First Lady Melania Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, granddaughter Kai Trump, and daughter-in-law Bettina Trump.
Also present were Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and his wife, Kelly Johnson, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick were also in attendance in the VIP area.
