WASHINGTON, DC: First Lady Melania Trump on Thursday, March 12, delivered a call to action at the White House for Women’s History Month, urging women to "be courageous and take risks."

Alongside President Trump and a group of successful women, the First Lady explained that America's strength comes from the impact women have in both their families and their careers.

Melania Trump calls on women to lead with courage

Addressing a room of "accomplished working mothers and women from across America who are leaders in business, athletics, law enforcement, government, and civil society", Melania Trump offered a roadmap for personal and professional growth, telling them to “make time for yourself, educate yourself daily, and spread your passion. Be courageous and take risks.”

She encouraged the audience to “advance your profession through inspiration” and to “be a bold chief executive while keeping your family—if you choose so—at the center of our nation’s future.”

By focusing on these dual roles, she noted that “the strength of America is closely tied to the role women play in shaping their children’s character, education, and morals,” and that “the values cultivated within our communities shape the voice and vision of our next generation.”

Melania Trump details focus and discipline needed for success

Reflecting on her own journey as an entrepreneur and creator, the First Lady shared the internal discipline required to reach the top of any industry, noting that “as a visionary, I know success is not borne overnight, but rather takes shape after a long, and sometimes challenging process.”

She spoke to the unique mindset of a leader, explaining that “often alone at the top, I follow my passion, listen to my instinct, and always maintain a laser focus. In solitude my creative mind dances—filling my imagination with originality.”

According to the first lady, this inner strength is essential because “attention to detail, demanding schedules, and multi-tasking are everyday realities when building towards success.”

Melania Trump highlights power of open mind in changing world

Melania explained that her ability to work in many different areas—from skincare and digital products to her latest work in films—comes from having an "unrestricted mindset" and always wanting to learn.

She explained that “curiosity is a core value that keeps me ahead of the curve,” and that “curiosity begets knowledge, opening doors to ideas and industries that I may have otherwise overlooked.”

While acknowledging the rapid pace of the modern world, she reminded the leaders in attendance that “the lessons I learned when launching my earliest ventures remain just as relevant today. Markets evolve, technologies change, but the fundamentals of thoughtful leadership and continuous learning are everlasting.”
