WASHINGTON, DC: First lady Melania Trump made a statement with her outfit as she welcomed Russian and Ukrainian representatives to the White House on Thursday, November 5. She wore an ivory Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit over a white top, completing the look with white Christian Louboutin stilettos.

A fashion expert said the all-white ensemble reflected a message of peace, while also giving Melania an appearance of strength and elegance. The meeting came after a six-day ceasefire in the Russian-controlled town of Oleshky, which Melania helped broker.

Melania’s choice of an ivory and white outfit stood out during the meeting, with fashion expert Dawn Del Russo explaining the meaning behind the colour.

“An all white look is honestly perfection,” Del Russo told The US Sun. “White is typically a very peaceful color that is meant to feel light.”

The expert also praised how Melania put the outfit together, saying it suited the occasion.

“Overall, I think she did the look really well for the moment, and brings on an energy of strength and elegance,” Del Russo said.

The first lady's outfit combined a polished, formal look with a colour often associated with peace.

Her choice drew attention as she took part in an event focused on efforts to ease the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Melania Trump calls for lasting peace after Oleshky ceasefire

During the press conference, Melania said she hoped the ceasefire in Oleshky would encourage a more lasting peace between the two countries.

“We have chosen humanity over war,” she said. “We must use the courage we brought to Oleshky to find common ground through a shared concern for the suffering of innocent people.”

The six-day ceasefire was a key part of the meeting, which brought representatives from both countries together at the White House.
