Melania Trump's memoir tops best-seller list ahead of release amid family's history of manipulating sales
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Melania Trump's memoir is now a best-seller as it jumped into the number one spot ahead of its release on October 8. As of Friday, September 27, the former first lady's upcoming memoir 'Melania' is the #1 seller in Amazon’s 'Books' category, according to The Independent.
Former president and Melania's husband, Donald Trump, congratulated her on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a clip from her recent Fox News interview.
"CONGRATULATIONS to our incredible former First Lady—as her new book MELANIA hit #1 in the USA!" he wrote, adding a website link to purchase the memoir.

However, Melania's success as an author could raise some eyebrows due to past reports about the Trump family's reputation for allegedly manipulating best-seller lists.
Donald Trump Jr and Jared Kushner's books benefitted from bulk purchases
Kathleen Schmidt, president of KMSPR, a book publicity firm, threw light on how some authors took a different path to become best-selling authors, in a 2022 report by Esquire.
The two examples she provided were of Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka Trump's husband, Jared Kushner.
Schmidt cited an October 2022 report by Forbes claiming that the Trump family members' books were purchased in bulk by a political action committee linked to the real estate mogul.
According to the report, the Save America Joint Fundraising Committee paid $158,000 to buy Kushner's book 'Breaking History: A White House Memoir', published on August 23, 2022. The memoir rose to number one position in the hardcover non-fiction best-seller list of the New York Times.
A 2019 report by The New York Times made similar accusations against Trump Jr's book 'Triggered' published in November of that year. It claimed the RNC made a massive purchase of copies worth $100,000, making it hit the number one spot in the New York Times best-seller list.
However, an RNC spokesperson at the time denied the bulk purchases of the former first son's book, saying, "We haven’t made a large bulk purchase, but are ordering copies to keep up with demand. Each book is sold to an individual who supports the Republican Party."
Melania Trump's memoir sheds light on her childhood and life with Donald Trump
Melania Trump, who rarely appeared alongside Donald Trump on the campaign trail, was active on social media to promote her upcoming book.
She touched on controversial subjects like her husband's 2020 election, defeating the first assassination attempt against him, and shared her experience of motherhood in videos touting the book. In one of the promotion clips, she defended her nude photoshoots before marrying the real estate mogul.
A month ago, her memoir occupied the number one spot in Amazon's other categories, including 'Memoirs', 'US Presidents', and 'Political Leader Biographies'.
According to the memoir's sales page, the former first lady "reflects on her Slovenian childhood, the pivotal moments that led her to the world of high fashion in Europe and New York, and the serendipitous meeting with Donald Trump, a chance encounter that forever changed the course of her life," in the 256-page long book published by Skyhorse Books.
The 54-year-old has also delved into her dating period with Trump, behind-the-scenes stories from her White House life, and everything close to her heart.
