KERRVILLE, TEXAS: First lady Melania Trump's attire during her recent Texas visit sparked comparison with her controversial "I really don't care" jacket, which she wore in 2018 while visiting the US-Mexico border.

While boarding the plane for Kerr County, the first lady broke from her usual attire, known for high-end designers, heels, and instead opted for an all-casual look.

Melania Trump wore army-green jeans, a matching casual blazer, and a pair of black Chuck Taylors as she visited the flood-struck county in Texas.

She also donned a plain T‑shirt, paired with dark sunglasses that added spark to her getup.

However, President Donald Trump opted for his characteristic suit as they greeted supporters and boarded the aircraft.

Interestingly, the outfit drew instant comparisons to her infamous Zara jacket from 2018.

The original jacket, which she wore en route to visit migrant children separated at the border, had a slogan at the back that read, "I Really Don’t Care, Do U?".

However, Melania’s former spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, dismissed any hidden meaning back then and said, "It’s a jacket. There was no hidden message." She also posted on X (formerly Twitter) the hashtags #SheCares and #ItsJustAJacket.

Moreover, President Trump publicly contradicted that explanation back then and wrote on X, “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?...refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”

Meanwhile, Melania faced criticism for her attire as lawmakers and advocates denounced the move as insensitive.

Furthermore, Democrats in Congress slammed the message as emblematic of indifference.

The first lady, in her 2024 memoir 'Melania', offered her in‑depth explanation and described the jacket as a way to push back against "media’s false narratives" and declared it was a "discreet yet impactful" protest.

Internet compares Melania Trump's recent attire with 'I really don't care' jacket

Several internet users started to compare her recent casual jacket with her infamous "I really don't care" jacket from 2018.

A user wrote on X, "Hey Melania, where’s the 'I really don’t care do u' jacket?" while one added, "Color me shocked that she didn’t bust out her Texas-visit fave: the ‘I Really Don’t Care Do U?’ coat."

A person also stated, "Where's her "I really don't care, do U?" jacket? Did she forget to bring it?" whereas one mentioned, "How touching! Maybe next she can send thoughts and prayers from her ‘I Really Don’t Care, Do U?’ jacket collection."

A user also wrote, "Did she wear her 'I really don’t care, do u?' coat?" while one commented, "At least it wasn’t the 'I really don’t care, do U?' jacket, so that’s an improvement."

A person also added, "For a minute there, I thought she'd broken out her 'I really don't care, do u?' jacket."
